Here is the deal: This was pulled from a customers machine because it was artifacting in the BIOS. It is a few years old, but they never really pushed the card, it was an old man that mainly uses the computer to surf the net. No games at all. It has 3 blown caps for sure, but I'm not sure if the other caps are good, so it definitely needs a recapping. And I'm not sure if that is the only thing wrong with it. I figure if someone wants to take the time to recap it they might get a decent HTPC card out of it, or just get the experience of recapping if they are still learning. I don't have the time to fool around with it.

TL;DR: Card boots, but artifacts in BIOS. Card has bad caps, you need to recap it, I'm not sure if the caps are the only problem.

You pay shipping and the card is yours. The card weights under 13oz, so it will shipping USPS First Class w/ Delivery Confirmation, which should be under $4 to most places in the US.

If anyone is wondering, those caps are about the easiest thing to replace on a motherboard, and anyone can do it with a soldering iron.

The caps are probably the issue here, but when all caps go bad, you have to wonder if there was something that made them bad. Since the card has no power supply of its own, I would have to say its a safe bet that replacing the caps will fix the card. If it doesn't, you aren't losing much.

I think they are surface mounted caps. And from my experience they are tricky to replace. They are baked on not soldered on. I am pretty sure with a good iron and now how a novice solderer can get it done.

These aren't surface mount caps, the pins go all the way through to the other side of the board. I'd do it myself but I got rid of all my soldering equipment the last time I moved offices.
