So, I haven't got my new PC yet, but I did get the RAM... hoping it would work. I bought a stick of 8 GB Corsair memory, DDR3 running at 1600.
From stuff I've read on the internet and the memory datasheet, I thought it would downgrade it to 1066 automatically, but this isn't the case. All I get is a series of beeps. Take CMOS battery off, same result, except with like 3 tries with no beeps (or monitor input) between them, just like a failed OC. (I didn't OC)
I put the DDR2 back just to see there was an error in MIT about OC or voltages.
So my question is, does this mobo not downgrade 1600 Mhz RAM? (The datasheet has 2400... or does it not support 8 GB in one slot?
