USB ports not working after installing fan controller

Confirmed. It is in fact the PSU. Is this reason to RMA or I don't have a case here?

People always told me to not skimp on a PSU... To prevent this maybe?

Should I install the fan controller with the new PSU or might the same thing happen? Am I safe without the PWM fan?

Thank you everyone for your help, without it, I would have bought a new mobo, and still be F*****

Glad to see that it is solved, has USB returned, and are your HDD's working? I am still not sure what would have caused this but I would certainly RMA the Fan Controller as this is the common denominator here.

I still do not know. All I know is the 5V rail from the PSU is not working... I hope so, and Corsair will be sending me a new PSU by monday, so at least they we're cool about it. I can not RMA the fan controller, because I modded it (stupid, I realize that). I am just not sure I want to risk installing it once the new PSU comes...

All I did was remove a plastic bit on the side so that I could insert a 4 pin fan on a 3 pin limited space... A reviewer did it (read it somewhere), without issues
