Hi all,

I appreciate this is a very late bump but I think I am having this very same problem. I get the BSOD at random times when playing BF3, sometimes I can get a good hour or two in with no problems, others it happens after five/ten minutes.

I've only just signed up to this site in work so I'll try and post some error codes next time this happens when I finish later. Just thought I'd give some info now in the hope that someone can help me because BF3 is the only game I play religiously and it's the only game that crashes my system.

You can see my specs in my drop down and I have updated all drivers for cards/mobo etc.

I'm hoping that it's the sound card issue that has been solved in this thread but I will get some error codes up later when I finish work.

Edit: My temps are all pretty stable too and I don't over clock anything. I get a temp of no more than 45deg on my CPU when playing and the GPU never goes above 75deg.

Just another update, I have no run both the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool and also Memtest (for 9 hours and 8 passes) and there were 0 errors reported.

I've also gone into the BIOS and changed some OC settings there. I have set everything to auto so hopefully this will fix it. If not, I will have to try the new souncard option to eliminate the Realtek issue that has been highlighted in this thread.

One question, though, if anyone can chip in; Is my PSU powerful enough? It meets all the requirements but it has go me wondering. Could be my next option to try and fix this.

PSU should be fine. In the previous post you said no overclock and then you say you changed some OC settings. Remove all OC and give it a go.

Yes, I believed that to be the case. I checked the BIOS, and under the options It had 'D.O.C.P' selected for OC tuning. When I originally bought the machine and checked in there it says that this option is for auto-optimisation.

There is another option for manual tuning and also 'auto'. I've now set it to auto and had a solid hour and a half with no crashes at all. I have played longer with no crashes but I'll keep an eye on it and come back if it crashes again.

Thanks for clarifying my PSU is ok, too!

Just to report back, since changing that option on the mobo, I haven't had a single crash, not even just to the desktop. After a good 5 days gaming I think I can say it's sorted!

Now just to get into a game without all EA's connection issues :banghead:
