What I fear is a Star Wars universe that turns out like Simcity. Something that has never been an MMO gets MMO features to act as DRM. A lack of adequate support, on the server side, from EA. A lack of respect for fan investment, which yielded everything from the Mass Effect 3 incident to a EULA this side of a full-body search by the TSA. I fear that EA is tone-deaf, but still trying to dance.

Hopefully Disney kicks EA from its sleep, and EA shows the potential that they've acquired. I can hope for this, but I'm expecting something less stellar. To put it more succinctly; I want to see us get The Avengers (2012), but I'm not getting my hopes higher than Spiderman 3.

No, Bioware is the reason behind it. I don't trust Bioware to do anything properly these days. The last game they made I thoroughly liked was Jade Empire. ME is overrated as hell, the first Dragon Age had some good stuff but wasn't that good and ToR was stupid. I really had hopes Obsidian would do more Star Wars stuff, but evidentily not. Or InXile or anyone but Bioware really. Good thing the good ones are busy doing good stuff.

EDIT. I mean Bioware should be big enough these days so they have some say in the matter, if EA are the ones proposing them.

EDIT again: They REALLY should put Raven on a new Jedi Knight.

EA likes to push for releases well before a product is ready. They, in my experience, usually "allow" for two "extensions" before they insist on a game going live.

ME 1 was good. ME 2 and 3 were very linear but both had a decent story. DA 3 is supposed to be different: huge, open, with a ton of character customization, lots of story, etc. , but I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet.

So they are like most other publishers then? And yes I've read about DA3, thank god character customization is the main problem most games have. (that is not the case) Huge open world and character customization brings a bad taste to my mouth when combined with an RPG, as it rarely works well, and that is not what makes a good RPG. And Bioware is not as good as others on story, character development and dialouge anyway, so blergh on them.

Illegal racing would work, but not the open street-world thing of MW. Introducing the force would be a bad idea. For actual street racing I think they'd need flying machines.. Which is a VERY interesting idea.
