I'm getting ready to start right now just got the ASUS RT-AC66U hooked up!

EDIT: I did benchmark at 1080, High settings I get Min. 20.78 AVG. 25.45 Max 32.5 with my comp, not that great will have to dial down some stuff.

Ultra: Min. 18.14 AVG. 22.53 Max 30.28

And it's only using 1 of my 4850's

I've just unlocked mine with VPN (I used USA server) and wow it runs really good, better then i've expected, this is with Adv.Lightning + Global illumination enabled.

4xmsaa, Adv.lightning + GI on @ 1080p (rest maxed, except reflections, particles, shadows at high)

avg 75fps
min 59.6fps
max 95fps

Gpu OC at 900mhz, not bad a?

Smoke, shadows and reflections at ultra are "too much", i can lose ~15fps on avg without any real visual difference.

Edit: this is all maxed, 4xmsaa

Looks like i already found my sweet spot @ 60fps+ and avg 75fps with those 3 settings at high. Now let online racing begin.. Common Friday

TOO many cut scenes stuffed down Your throat while playing. Game play is Nice though, Kinda like a polished version of the first with extra post processing options ,etc. Was hoping for MORE with this version.

any players using a wheel setup get H shifter + clutch working? When i swapped over from just h shifter to use the clutch, gears are not shifting period, it just stays in neutral. controls look to be set properly.

Bought the game then noticed something on steam.....DLCs......

Makes me wonder if we are in for another round of, buy the rest of the game as separate DLC like DiRT 3.

21k or around there. Just got the game tonight, played a couple hours. Game seems fun enough, though when you bump into anything, that camera effect is rather annoying, especially for barely grazing things, lol. Plus, I am a bit sad they got rid of the nickname I used in the first game, "Dumptruck", that always made me laugh.

Nice, yeah I've got about 2hours in. Lol I never saw that nickname from the first I just use my real name

Gameplay isn't terrible but it is a lot more arcade than I remember Grid being. No big deal though still fun to mess around.

it has an in-game benchmark, also accessible via command line. probably gonna replace f1 2012 in my benchmarks with grid 2

I'm at about a half million more than that so far, but the last few races were kinda tough to get 1st places on.

I don't like the sponsor system. It was a lot easier for me to pick sponsors in GRID 1 based on payouts and finishing position objectives, which made sense. Here they tried to do too much with sponsor objectives. Some of them are things most sponsors wouldn't really care that much about.

As a result I've gotten lazy and just left my sponsors as is, often not getting objectives because I don't care to shuffle them for each event type. I also don't like the fan system vs XP or money gained. Makes more sense to earn experience and win money to spend on cars.

The graphics are pretty good and the tracks are OK, but I can't help compare it to GRID 1 and think that I liked it better than this one. Worse yet many of us aren't seeing any Adv Wheel options in the control menu. Some are saying you have to have a certain type of control device to even get them.

Normally playing on KB wouldn't be an issue for me, and so far on the default difficulty I'm managing to win all races, but if I can't fine tune the saturation, linearity, dead zone, etc, this game is literally going to have no replay value for me. I've considered getting a 360 Speed Wheel, which GRID 1 supported well, but I'm beginning to think this game won't support it.

Well I switched to AFR Friendly and now I'm getting Higher FPS Ultra with a couple on Medium, Min. 28.89 AVG. 35.44 Max 45.61

don't waste your time on it
1. terrible physics its like the bastardized child of Burnout and need for speed in the worst possible way

2. the graphics are terrible the game does a decent job of hiding just how low poly and low res everything thing is but once you will play it you will see it and once you notice it thats all you will see

3. No Cockpit Cam

4. No Unrestricted single player events you are forced to play there silly Campaign mode to unlock everything

5. DLC ... need I say more

this looks good. plus you will need to consider that this is a very low resource drawing game. and i hate to disagree, but comparing to both those arcade games is making your comment invalid

Graphics are not a big leap from DiRT 3 but still pleasing enough to my eyes and runs very smooth on max custom settings.

It appears CM have cut costs in the controller options section.
I can not find advanced controller options to adjust throttle response for the trigger (although I use the thumb stock for acceleration and braking).

The car handling is taking time to get used to.
Counter steering is not as forgiving as it would be in DiRT 3 even on tarmac.
If the car is juked too hard in the opposite direction the car will lose all drift momentum and veer straight off into the wall on the other side, crash, flashback or rage quit with an Alt F4, so it has to be subtle which will take some time to get used to.
