Hah I just received one of these today that was a review sample elsewhere. My first SS peripheral and haven't tried it in games yet but love the looks and feel a lot (using at work right now). 4 side buttons is nice too. Pretty happy for $50 shipped.

Thanks for the review.

Is this also has the forced positive accel, or did they fix it in this version?

If there was a laser sensor without accel, people would be all over it. They aren't. There isn't.

I'd love to see a Sensei with the A3090.

Sensei is the evolution of Xai, you know it :toast:
Having been used the Kinzu v2 Pro, a smaller/less features/optical version of this. Very satisfied

Well my XAI gained the double click syndrome and they replaced it with the Sensei which to me is not as good but still good. Although it will have the same issue soon i can tell with the odd button press.

I hope SS gets their act together and starts using the A3090, Some of their shapes are top notch, but the sensors they use.. well.. i guess its nice to have customers buy stuff because they dont know better :\

I'd love to see a Sensei with the A3090.

Really? Here are a few sensors for you which all track without accel:
(note: some of these has/had jittering or other issues which are mostly fixed by now with FW updates, but none of these have any kind of accel AFAIK)

He said "laser", those are all optical ofcourse, since there is not a single good laser sensor out yet
Damn all those ignorant fools who think DPI means accuracy.

For 90% of the gamers out there the slight positive acceleration on the ADNS-9500/9800 will go completely unnoticed. The best implementations of the ADNS-3090 get more accurate tracking than the 9500/9800, however the implementation varies and so does the performance, especially at the high end of the sensors DPI range.

I've been using the "non-RAW" version for a while now and I love it. Only issue is a squeaky mouse wheel which I also had on my previous Steelseries mouse.

I took mine apart and added a very little oil on the parts that hold the wheel and it's never doe that again ( 8 month later ).

I did that a while ago and it worked for a little while. I'm going to try some synthetic grease this time around.. I just need to wait for my new mouse feet to come in, the ones on there now have lost most of their stickiness. :)

I've been wondering about this. I've long encouraged people to go with optical sensors and lower DPIs, so of course I've had lots of replies that equated to "I have X and I don't notice any problems", but does that necessarily mean it's not affecting them? While we might notice ourselves improve over time, we aren't consciously aware of our mind building the muscle memory that results in that improvement, so would we necessarily be consciously aware of something that was interfering with that, or might we be oblivious to the fact that we weren't hitting shots that would otherwise be on target?

That might of been what i used ( synthetic grease ). Which goes by the name of Super Lube haha. I use it on my remote controls cars and my bike..

I heat mine up a a little to make them that little bit more sticky.

It's not affecting them in my opinion. You need to be on a certain level in any "pro" activity to start "suffering" because the limitations of your equipment. I tested this many times with games I did not have experience with. My performance was not affected just because I was playing with a shitty mouse, let alone the Sensei which is pretty far from being shitty.

I use the Rubberised version and its a fantastic mouse for the price. At its original price it was a bit expensive, but i managed to get mine for £35 posted brand new from a local supermarkets online store.
