I have been building a desktop PC.

I have everything built, except for the memory - still need to purchase this.

I ran the computer and the POST TEST bleeped the code for memory problem. This is good as it is not installed yet.

My motherboard is an ASUS M5 A97 LE R2.0.

I have seen a great price for 8 GB (2X4 GB) of RAM.

The modules are SAMSUNG M378B5273DH0-CH9.
The RAM is PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) 1.5v - which is fine, but if I buy it, I am not sure if it will work with my system.

I have checked the QVL list but this memory module(s) is not specified.

Does anyone, more Knowledgeable than myself, know if this would work okay? I,d like to grab a bargain but, only if it's compatible.

Other specs of my build:

AMD PhenomII 965 BE CPU
ASUS 650 TI BOOST 2GB OC GPU
600W PSU

Short answer, yes it will.

Long answer:
The board specifies DDR3 2133(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066. This means any DDR3 meeting these frequencies will work. You've done a good job in choosing CL9 timings. If it were me, I'd search for a set of RAM modules that were rated for 1866 at CL10. As it stands, the cited modules will work.

CPU compatibility

Thanks for replying.

The other issue I am concerned about is that the CPU only supports 1333MHz RAM.

I have read a lot of cases where people who have the same CPU get the BSOD when installing higher frequency modules, even when tweaking the BIOS settings.

As my knowledge on this is limited, I may stick with 1333MHz.

In the future, I will upgrade the CPU and get higher frequency RAM then.

I have the latest BIOS update ready for when I pass POST TEST.
