Are there any backplates on the market that fit this card? thanks. Card sags like a mofo.

afaik, Alphacool & Aquacomputer make some. Not sure about availability wherever you are though

You prey in wrong church from two reason, not one.

GIGABYTE + Backplates, they are unplanned costs for GIGABYTE vision of IT Industry.
How to install that on their cards, only fabric backplate as on mine 5870 2GB.
Because
IF YOU TOUCH SCREWS YOU LOSE WARRANTY!
THAT IS LAW OF MSI, ASUS AND GIGABYTE and many more.

Gigabyte makes a variety of 7970 models. It would be helpful to know which model you have.

not everyone need backplate. some prefer replacing the cooler with liquid one.
You can consider to use some decent cases with vga holder like cooler master haf x.

I have a 7950 with the same cooler and it does not sag at all,in fact it feels very rigid and stable.

Rock, no photo neccesary. EK makes a back plate for 7970

So, is this a reference board? Even then different reference cards may or may not have a metal bracket on the back for the GPU mount. The backplate from EK may not work. It uses different mounting holes around the GPU that are designed for their blocks. I have two of them.

Here's the backside so you see what I mean. Going to need longer mounting screws if it'll work:

PCB is the same ref and non ref. I have a non ref and it works. Also 7970 all waterblocks work on Ref and non ref.

No. I have a reference 7970 sitting right next to me here that I bought at launch with the reference cooler on it. On the backside there is a metal mount with four screws around the GPU. That is necessary to attach to the stock cooler. It interferes with the EK backplates.

Sorry bruh I thought I stated it, its the GIGABYTE GV-R797OC-3GD . Windforce model, not the reference.

From the picture it doesn't look like the bottom expansion slot is seated tight to the thumb screw. It might also be that since it is a thumb screw and not a Philips that they just aren't tight enough, especially since the poster above says his card doesn't sag.

Its seated tight. Its an optical illusion because the edge of the card sits further out than the i/o panel attachment.

If the card is reference you could probably get an EK backplate and use velcro to put it on your PCB!

Velcro would make it too thick and in the 1st PCIE slot, it would be difficult to insert ram. With just the backplate it is very snug on Gigabyte boards between the 1st slot and the dimm clamps.

I was about to say that too, and it would look like shit, one of the main reasons to get a back plate is for the aesthetics anyways.
