Quick bit of advice would be much appreciated.

My current old 5.1 Creative speakers have Black, Orange and Green leads but on the mobo I ordered "Gigabyte Z68AP-D3", the audio jacks are Blue, Green and Pink.

Would my speakers work with my mobo? Also what goes where?

Help much appreciated. Thanks!

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Check the manual for your board on which input is which...

Usually though PInk is the microphone, Green are speakers, and I don't recall what blue is...

I think blue is line in.

Which only leaves one lead for me to plug in with 2 un plugged!

Front speakers (green) go to green, rear speakers (black) go to blue, center/sub (orange) go to pink. Then configure it as 5.1 in the Realtek software.

No matter what the colors are Realtek control panel allows you to use any port for anything you want. E.g. I got line out on both green and blue and set them to play the same thing. I'm sure you can set up the outputs for a 5.1 system.

Yes, the ports just need to be remapped in the software. Cheap boards only have 3 audio jacks so you lose mic-in and line-in if you use 5.1 channel speakers.

Typically, the front + center speakers go to green jack, sub goes to pink and rear speakers to blue jack. You can re-order them as you see fit, though.

You won't lose mic-in if you use front panel audio.

Ahh thanks for all the reply guys. I have an old Sound Blaster I found today if I need it. Will try and use the onboard first though.
