Hey guys I have a new build that I was wondering if I would be able to overclock fairly easy on. I'm planning this build for Bf4 and the Dayz standalone. Will this build be able to hold its own in these 2 games coming up in the future. Provided I do get myself a good CPU cooler.

Intel Core i5 3470 Quad Core Processor LGA1155 3.2GHZ Ivy Bridge 6MB Retail

ASRock Z77 EXTREME4 ATX LGA1155 DDR3 2PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI SATA3 DVI HDMI USB3.0 Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance Blue CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Dual Channel Memory Kit

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 OC 1150MHZ 2GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5 2xDVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card

Nope, the i5 3470 isn't an overclocking cpu, it has a locked core. Sorry, you can only increase the multiplier 4 bins above max turbo.

Really? I read that on the ASRock Z77 you can overclock it. Is this not true?

Nope, max clock will be 4.0GHz, which I guess is an overclock, but probably not what you were thinking. You need a K series cpu, I would have thought you gathered that from your other threads.

Hmm..I'm not extremely educated in overclocking. Does this mean I wont be able to get over the 3.6? If that's the case then 3.6 is probably just good enough for the games that i want to play.

Yup, you'll be just fine at that clock. I'm sure you will enjoy this build.

Thanks. I guess it is going to be my learning build as well. I can tinker with things and get a better understanding on how things work.
