Hey guys!

So me and my sister share this Wacom Bamboo tablet for over 2 years now and there's a big possibility that she's gonna get a new one (She now has a job at this big company that most of us know)

The current Bamboo tablet I have has wire problems that a single movement on the wire would cause it to not work anymore. Most of the time whenvever I plug it in a tooltip comes out saying "USB device not recognized" and the LED on the tablet would just go out.

I want to repair it before my sister gets her new tablet. Now the dilemma is that the tablet came from the US of A and I live here in the Phil (asia). I don't know where I could repair it and I'm not sure if Wacom has lifetime warranty (I hope they do but i'm betting my butt they don't)

So can I repair this in any electronic repair center? or is there somewhere I could take it?

Thanks for the replies and help I'll be getting! Cheers!

does it use a standard usb cable you can replace or something is damaged inside the tablet itself?

If it's just loose cables anyone with basic soldering skills. Depending on model it even has screws, so it shouldn't be too hard to open it.

Sorry for not replying, I didn't have interwebz connection yesterday.

Well its this model (Ty google)

And yes I've deduced that the problem is inside the tablet itself (I can hear some things clink-ing inside) I do have basic soldering knowledge (not that good imo) But I'm afraid that I might even break it more.

I'll take a look inside once it gets home and a new tablet comes in. In the meantime I'll try and google on how to open the damn thing

EDIT: Are there any online guides on how to open the thing? I kinda want to see what's inside before opening the real thing so I know what I would expect :/ google isn't coming up with good searches

Hmm, like janeparker said, go to a good electronic repair person, are to many things to go wrong if you try to do it...

Alrighthy then. I'll have to find a repair center and see how much it cost. Although if I did a DIY could post a tutorial here so it could be used for future references ( But I don't trust myself that much since I have a tendency to break things)

USB is only 4 wires so it shouldn't be too bad. Just get another USB lead, cut the end off, and replace the one in the device.
