Live (Now dead) Insect in my LED monitor

Okay, so about 20 minutes ago I saw a bug walking across my screen, not a big deal right? Just push it off with your finger right? WRONG. I went to push it off and it stopped moving, tried to push it again and there was no movement, took a closer look and it was behind the outer layer. POO.

What can I do aside from getting a new monitor?
I'm not attached to this AOC 1600x900 e2050sn that I got new off eBay for £50, but I would do without spending more money.

Ha, I had an ant do the same thing, little bugger. I didn't kill him though; he was just there one day, dead. I finally sold that monitor at a flea market for $50; good riddance

Take it apart?

I would, but it's made by AOC, and my quick 1:30am inspection of it tells me it's glued together. Oh also looking at the bug with backwards binoculars (works really well) I think it's between a red and a blue layer not just under the outside glass-like layer.

I say then it's time to upgrade, move past the 20" 1600.900

Give it a few months. It will decay. It will leave something behind though.

It should be able to be disassembled. There should be some screws to be removed, then just pry around the edges.

Hmm, I do like 1600x900, maybe it is time to go 1080p, I guess I can always drop the in-game resolution to 1600x900 if I need to

A few months is a bit long, I think I'll look at taking it apart.

naaahhhh not that much ... i allready stepped on a grenade and most of the time you wear shoes (reinforced and such ... or even a simple shoes is enough) standard round body HG can make you fall but its not the HG who hurt you, Chocolate tab type HG (or frag'nade) are too smoothed to be hurting even a naked foot.

BUT, you are right ... a lego is way more painfull ... so are TACKS! and table feets ... or opening a door in the morning before coffee and not being fully awake...

I experienced exact the same thing just last night and It really pisses me off to have a small dot in the middle of my monitor. . I have an LG FLATRON IPS234. .

Yup ive taken apart a lcd to do a thorough cleaning. Still works perfectly to this day.
