CPU fan spinning out of control up to 5000-5500 rpm's (base 3400)

Has anybody ever had their CPU fan spin up to 5000-5500 rpm's slowly over time? When i boot it hovers around 3400-3600 rpms. After about 5-10 minutes the fan starts to slowly increase speed. Heres a screen shot...Its only up to 4700..but in a few it will reach 5000+. Any thoughts? I have the latest bios version and freshly installed winDers...

Is this common or did i get a fluke MoBo or fan?

If it's a stock AMD cooler it's normal. Fan ramps up as the temps go up. I've seen that fan spin as high as 6000 rpm. I advise you to get a better cooler if possible.

wow. Yea the other day i woke up to it at about 5500 rpms. i thought it was going to explode. LOL

This a AMD cooler or intel? as AMD cooler fans can get to 6000 rpm

Its the Stock AMD cooler that came with the FX 8320

Get rid of that POS stock cooler and get something better. AMD stock coolers are incredibly annoying with their 70mm fans that can rotate at up to 6000 RPM.

Its most likely the AVC Cooler? if so then yea there crazy loud and spin very fast. Get a Cooler master TX3 evo, cheap and quiet

Clean the dust from it. Cooler doesn't know its not doing it's job because there is dust on it so it increases the fan speed. But since it does nearly nothing because of the dust it keeps on increasing the fan speed because the heat is not moving anywhere. At least this was the most common reason for noisy stock machines...
