Which PSU?!

Hello guys, I've started the process of upgrading my system and I currently have an i7 4770K, Asus Z87-K, 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz and a EVGA GTX 770 SC ACX (got it from a friend for £200 :O!)

But the hard part is now the PSU part. I wanted to get a Corsair HX650 Gold but I heard a whole bunch of bad things about it regarding the coil whine issues. There are a lot of videos on it and a lot of reviews talking about it so it has put me off getting it.

My options has lead me to the following:

Option 1 - £87.74 = Antec 650W Earthwatts Platinum PSU | Ebuyer.com

Option 2 - £92.12 = Fractal Design Newton 600W 80 Plus Platinum Modula...

Option 1 - This looks good but I don't know much about it.

Option 2 - This caught my eye the most as the Newton R3 looks really nice and has sick looking cables but I was wondering if it would handle the setup I provided along with 2 blu ray drives, 1tb samsung spinpoint f3, 2x 80mm led fans, 1x 120mm led fan and 2 cold cathlode lights.

Option 3 - Seasonic what can I say but I heard even though it's a version 2 it still has really bad whine coil noises like the corsair HX650 Gold but costs quite a bomb for me but its Seasonic thats why I considered it!

Could you guys give me insights on these PSU and help me choose out of these 3? Which do you think is the best and good value for my money? Thanks!

Antec and Seasonic make some of the best PSU's on the market, you couldn't go wrong with either, that said that Fractal design is likely using one of the same OEM's anyway and they do make quality units also. Personally I don't see the point in spending any more than the Antec, it's more than sufficient, platinum and an Antec.

BLERGHGHGEGRGH people need to stop doing this. Antec uses multiple OEMs, the best ones currently coming from Delta (and that unit comes from Delta too). Fractal Design uses ATNG for the top ones (and they are bloody good).

The world doesn't end with Seasonic.

The fractal one fails the hold-up test!!
Don't but it if you suffer in your area from power interruptions and inconsistent delivery.

About the hold-up test:
The hold-up test "is the amount of time the system can continue to run without shutting down or rebooting during a power interruption".

Why did you quote me lol I didn't say to get the seasonic I recommended the Antec based on it's the cheapest out of 3 very good units :toast:
