important motherboard question with two cpu sockets

Well i have two cpu sockets on my motherboard and i accidentaly bent a bunch of pins in the second socket and a few mght be missing. So my question is will the motherboard still function if the main cpu socket is fine even if the secnd one is damaged beyond repair?

Havent had time yet. Il have to take the motherboard out of the case i dont have the right screwdriver i plan on getting on today and i wanted to ask before i try it because if not il hqve to get a new board.

Not sure what kind of motherboard it is. Its a server board. Lga 771 sockets dual xeon cpus, 4 gigs of ram, gtx 570 video card, 850 watt psu, 700 gig hdd, dvd drive etc.

maybe if lose 1 pin it still run but i dunno
just give it a try and if it cant run it means replacing the board
next time you should get more carefully

I don't see why it wouldn't, but you will lose functionality like RAM slots wired to the damaged cpu.

The pc origanally had one cpu i added a 2nd one for extra performance. Since there is 8 ram slots couldnt i just move the ram over for it to work right?

I have another question i should have asked this sooner but there might be a peice of plastic behind the motherboard. Could that cause a short?

No plastic won't cause a short, you've likely buggered the CPU socket if you can't bend the pins back, why are you asking us if one CPU will work you have the motherboard and CPU's just take one out and try?

Will my 570 work with this board and if so will it br bottlenecked much by the lower bandwith of thre pci express slots?
