Hi everyone i'm new in the forums but i already follow the reviews and news many time ago.

My question is should I update my bios of graphic card to maybe improve some performance or is too risky and the work don't worth it?
My card is a zotac 8800GT 512MB 660/900/1600mhz and yes it's very old but it's working for the last 6years and didn't disappoint me, just on the last titles with Directx 11!

I'm asking this because i will buy a new one in January or December and should be from the new AMD generation, but until them i want to play the games with a more fps and if you ask yes i already made OC.

Cheers!:D

yea, flashing the vga bios wont get you dx11 from a dx10 only card dude.

overclocking would be my tip for you, those cards where good for 800 core most of the time :)

My overclock was 675/960/1700... But what do you think about the clocks of Amp edition, seems to have the same cooler, so should do in my?

As said, overclockign is the way to go here. If it gets too hot and you're planning on upgrading soon anyway I wouldn't bother though.

Also, overclocking is a game. You get different results from different cards.

Oh didn't see that you only reached 70 degrees. Yeah that's nothing for a GPU unless there's something wrong with it. My GPU can't handle more than 73 degrees, but something is wrong with it. ;)

try getting some more from the shader you'll be able to go higher with ease if you have an AMP edition

I have the same card and got massivly lower temps by removing the next PCI-bracket below the card so the hot air could get out of the case better.
Died on me a few months ago though, had to repair it by baking it in the ocen two times, now it has run without problems for two months.

My results were somewhre between 720 and 740 MHz Core and 1GHz Mem.

Why should it, those brackets are made to be removed for installing expansion cards.

That only helps to lower temps. Download MSI Afterburner you'll hit much higher!
