Ok. I am testing a motherboard and I have an issue with the APU. It will not clock up from 2.0 GHz. This is well below the default speed of 4.1 GHz and I am not sure what is wrong. Any ideas?

This is the second OS install I have had this issue on
Games run like crap (including BF3, BF4 beta, Metro LL)
Websites refused to load video
Power Mode is on Normal, no Windows power saving features enabled
Temperature always below 45C
Paired with GTX 770 2 GB

What are you using to read the clock speed? I doubt the APU has anything to do with website videos failing to load since you are using 770 ...

ASRock A85X-ITX and I am using AIDA64 and AUTX and CPU-Z

I had a similar issue years ago with BIOS compatibility (later model Phenom II/older 790GX mobo). It was solved by changing over to a different BIOS but not the latest that was available...

Are you using the version 1.40 or later BIOS for that board?

I've read that most tools don't read the APU turbo clock correctly. You might try amd's overdrive program, run a single threaded app, and check the monitor. When I tried that with my 5600, it showed much finer MHz granularity, and higher than CPU-Z.

1.60 the latest version of the BIOS.

Well I have used this APU on two other boards and I have a good idea of how it should perform and it is not performing up to par. I will check AMD OD and see if I get the same issue after I try a few fixes.

try clearing cmos (reset the BIOS) first

if it presist, i would try older BIOS version.

the other two boards are not mini ITX right? and the APU is working perfectly fine in them?
am pretty sure the BIOS throttling the APU. their previous board is a fire hazard, so i guess they built into the BIOS some kind of protection for the not-so-good VRM circuit.
