Support for Hd6670/7670 would be nice. Those bioses should be more simple than high end cards. I would like to rename my 6670 to 7670(Same card) and flash the clocks from 800/4000 to 900/4600. The clocks part more important.(Dont like to run overclocking software all the time!) :respect::toast:

It was locked in the BIOS, and i've managed to unlock it. :)...

...Looks like i found a way to unlock these voltage locked ASUS BIOSes.

Will you add this feature to a later version? :D

You should be able to use RBE for a 6670 BIOS.

Rbe is sadly outdated for hd6670. Didnt work at all.It did work for 6850 though.Lets hope somebody has the time to give support for 6670.:respect: I just got a second one for 30 euros and i crossfired them.My multimedia pc is even good for gaming.Playing most wanted @fullhd fluently. Those new i3 series processors are pretty good.Even better than my first generation i7.Games load very fast on ssd(Fuck consoles):nutkick:
:D:D:D:D:D:D:toast: My first dual graphics setup.

Changing the clocks for sure); But be real careful with the device id's... unless there already the same ..

It lets you modify but after flash it bsods on start up nomather what i do. It renders the bios useless.I even asked the rbe maker and no direct support for it.Only 6850 and 6950>6970 supported.

btw, this card have a dual bios - bios 1 = factory, bios 2 = unprotected

another question from a friend is, is vbe7 able to modify/deaktivate the boost und fan profile for an asus hd 7970 matrix platinum?

is club 3d / the manufacturer able to find out that we have flashed/modded the bios, after recovering the original stock bios?

...are you running two different cards ? Even then, I have never seen two different kinds of VRAM listed in a single Bios screenie per above...could that have something to do with it ?

Sorry i don't plan to add support for older cards.

The unlocking method needs more testing (unlocked one BIOS so far), but i'll add it later if it works.

Seems to be voltage locked, trying to unlock. :)

Test your card with Trixx/Afterburner and once you found the good settings, make a custom BIOS.

Yes, should work with the matrix platinum BIOS.

I don't think so.

VBE7 sets the voltage you want to use.

so the card wont lower the voltage either in 2D mode?
so it would be one static voltage for everything mode?

or is each phase editable voltage/gpu frenquency? /memory frequency
as showed with the dropdown boxes on the screenshots?

-----

i'm considering getting a second 7970DC2T (4096 Stream processors  ) but would like to edit my voltage abit just to bump that clock abit higher.

anyway, i have to make up my mind soon before stocks run out.
i'm tempted to wait for the 290x, but that would "only" give me 2800 stream processors instead if 4096 for about the same price.

.

The VDDC is the max voltage value that the card is allowed to use. The actual use from 2D to 3D though goes dynamically. Only thing you can change via this tool is the max voltage value (VDDC).

he will unlock the bios by hand and will likely upload it for you.

thank you all mates downloading a non top bios from this lovely website and changing the subsystem id of that file according to default one, by using this bios editing program and flashing it unlock this pitty locking system of asus and now i can hit 1200/1500@1.3v through MSI AFTERBURNER here are the bios and atiwinflash for those who faced with this problem

Hello all. :)

I tried using the latest version of VBE7 on the BIOS' of both of my locked voltage XFX 7870's and all I get for voltage is a dropdown. In that dropdown the max choice is the default 3d max voltage for my cards.

Is there any help for me?

Ive attached a screenshot and BIOS files if that helps. ;)

It's a drop-down box because you have an unrecognized voltage controller. Are both cards the same? If so, is there a way you could take the cooler off of one and identify the voltage controller for DarkMHz?

They are the same brand model, but dufferent revisions, and bios. physically they appear the same.

I do have pictures of each so if you point me where to look I think I can get the info fairly easily.

*EDIT*

I've attached a picture of one of my cards. Where should I look for the voltage controller?

*EDIT*

I have circled the chip that should be your voltage controller. If you could give us all the markings off of that chip(off of both cards, if that chip is different on each), Dark should be able to tell you whether or not he can add support for it.:toast:

Dear darkhmz, first of all thank you for making this amazing piece of software. This allows my puny voltage locked card to 1.2GHz from 1.15GHz by upping the voltage table from 1210mV to 1225mV previously. The voltage regulator on my card is NCP5395T. Can this voltage table be increased? I would like moar voltage on this card so I don't have to buy new cards. Attached with this post is my modded BIOS I hope you can check it out if you got time :)

Question

Stupid Question about the Overdrive & PowerTune settings.

(I have Sapphire 7950 boost cards)

My original bios settings for OD & PWR Tune are.
Overdrive
Max core clock - 1200
Max memory clock - 1575
TDP Limit (%) - 20

PowerTune
TDP(W) - 167
Power Limit (W) - 130 - 200
I changed this to
TDP(W) - 200
Power Limit (W) 160 - 240

Ok, I always need to set my cards to +20% to keep them from throttling when overclocked.
So looking at my TDP of 167 and adding the 20% that gives me the 200 listed in the original power limit.

So I just changed my TDP(W) from 167 to 200 and figured that makes my default the +20% extra I needed without the need to literally go in and add the +20% through software all the time.
And of course, now if i move +20% manually in software, it will be the new 240 value instead of the original 200.
Was my way of thinking correct?

When i don't change it, I still have to manually add the +20% in software to prevent throttling, So i just edited it in the bios instead.

Other than that, everything went flawless with my overclock and voltage/fan settings and I'm thrilled to be rid of boost and not having to disable ULPS all the time just to use a 3rd party software to overclock.
Now I can just keep my drivers up to date and not worry about getting everything OC'ed just right in software anymore.

Thanks a lot for sharing this darkhmz! :toast:
