hello I have a phenom dos x4 3.4 with 8gb of ram. I think my memory is too new for my mobo even though I have upgraded to the latest version of the bios, check my system specs.

Is there a program like I use to use for my amd athlon-xp like prime95 to see if this baby is really going strong? I had recent crashes while running opera with 28 tabs open, winning eleven 8, fotoshop and firefox with a picture of a girl.

Suddently some desktopX window manager crashed and then opera followed. I had previous crash in the past I been upping the voltage of my memory from stock 1.5 to 1.525 now 1.55 and is going strong so far been 3 hours no down but how to know if it will crash if I load graw2.

Hope you can help this dammed soul.:respect:

I would suggest upping the CPU_NB voltage to 1.2-1.25 to aid the IMC in handling the ram. Also XMP profiles for ram don't always work the best for AMD chips since it was timed for Intel. You may have to play with your timings a bit as well

My computer now doesn't crash as much as it use to, use to crash overnight while sleeping and opera use to crash too but there are still problems, I'm having a crashing problem with sony vegas 12 when prevIEwing in full screen that's my only problem now I want to know if I can safely up the voltage even more on the CPU_NB which is the one that helped alot before, my system specs are on my system profile but my motherboard is a ASROCK 970 PRO3 and I'm on the latest 1.9 version of the bios. the bios is on this site http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?cat=Download&os=BIOS&Model=970 Pro3
I want to highlight that I did reset to factory defaults before and aftering modding.

I think is more like a preview issue then with motherboard settings and I'm not trying to overclock my computer that wasn't the intention when I bought this computer I just want stable values.

UPDATE:
apparently it was more a vegas issue then a system stability issue I just played a full 20min project on full screen and it didn't crash it usually did after a min to 5min, I disabled video acceleration.

I had catalyst 13.4 I upgraded to 13.9, I first unistalled the current version... don't know if the error was caused by installing catalyst without unistalling previous version or the upgrade itself but vegas now doesn't fail with GPU enabled played the 20min clip twice and it didn't fail once.

Nice. Wish all the problems were that simple.
