Well, after 10 years my receiver finally bit the dust so I'm in the market for a new ~$200 receiver.

There's a few requirements:
- LPCM 5.1 support (through HDMI)
- Dolby Prologic II support
- Optical and Coaxial digital audio inputs

Looking at newegg, it seems that the Pioneer VSX-522-K fits my needs but I wanted to check if there's something else under the sun that I should consider. I don't mind buying used so if there are older models worth considering please let me know.

Thank you for any input. :respect:

Settled on a Yamaha RX-V367, it's used but comes with speakers (the RT2620 speakers are 4 Ohms so I can't use them with 90% of the receivers out there).

That Pioneer would have been a better receiver. What are you using it for?

It's for an HTPC (well, it's more of an Steam Box ATM), Wii U (LPCM), Gamecube, PS2 (Pro Logic II), a VCR (yes, you read that right) and other consoles.

The RT2620 didn't support HDMI but I was using the digital out of the TV to get sound from the 360 and PS3. I was only getting stereo on the Wii U though.

The Yamaha doesn't do HD decoding but I can set the PS3 to LPCM for Blu-ray HD audio. Plus it comes with speakers as noted, whereas the Pioneer is only the receiver.

All receivers support Prologic II as standard.

All HD receivers support DTS-HD Masters and DD True HD and LPCM.

The Pioneer VSX-522-K seems like a decent receiver for the price.

It's for an HTPC (well, it's more of an Steam Box ATM), Wii U (LPCM), Gamecube, PS2 (Pro Logic II), a VCR (yes, you read that right) and other consoles.

PS2 supports Dolby Digital and DTS, no need for Prologic.

I would have got the Pioneer personally. HD audio decoding is important to a HTPC for longevity. A lot of new bluray titles and even PS3 games are coming equipped with DTS HD Masters & DD True HD.
