Psu Warranty

Hey guys,

I have a question, I got an Corsair GS500 psu from a friend that is unstable, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. He bought another psu.

I played with it for a bit, but it is still unstable.

He doesn't have the receipt anymore.

The psu has been announced in 2011, and it has 3 year carry in warranty.

Do you think they will accept the rma? Does anyone have experience with this?

They all go on the serial number, give them the serial number off the PSU and they will tell you if its still under warranty or not. All depends on when it was manufactured. Good luck

Were you able to get a hold of Corsair customer service? I'd simply submit a ticket about the issue. It shouldn't be a problem at all, since GS500 has a 3 year warranty. Let me know in case you come across any issues process the RMA.

One thing I'd like clear though. So your friend had the GS500 and system not stable, gave it to you and now your system is unstable. Is that accurate? Problem follows one system to another?

No, my system works fine with my current psu, but the gs500 is more powerfull. so it doens't work with my system, but neither with any other system

Definitely get it replaced. You don't necessarily have to call, you can simply submit a ticket here and we can process the RMA for you without calling.

Also, I can help you out processing your RMA quicker. Once you have a ticket #, post it and I will push it through the system so you don't have to wait for the standard approval time for RMAs.

Just got it this morning, they shipped me a brand new one :rockout:

and runs fine. and pulls more air out of the case than my previous psu
