If sports games came to PC I would probably not own a console..

Sports games and the fact that a good chunk of friends still play cod on console are the only reason I own one.

>buy Xbox 360 controller
>plug into PC
>PC became xbox

You sure there arent sports game for PC? What kind of sports?

And madden/fifa/ncaa etc..

SOME come to pc.. but generally not with the current engine or are shitty ports. The only sports game I play on pc is football manager (Which is turning into more and more of a shitshow every year)

all NBA 2k games for PC are shitty ports, they strip out features in the PC version.

But I still play it on PC because I can't stand the 30 fps performance of current gen consoles. This gen however is very different. for starters 2k won't be releasing the new-gen graphics for PC for at least 2 to 3 years which sucks. so the new-gen versions are pretty much are the best versions for a while.

another thing is Online play is generally much better on consoles.

Buys PS4 the first day, finishes Killzone the next day, stares at the console for the rest of the week or month.

Yeah... I didn't even buy a game. So I have this nice PS4 that I just get to look at. Actually I am playing one of the free ps+ games.

I may pick up Assassins Creed 4: Black flag because I have it for the PS3 and the visuals are fine but not near as detailed as the ps4. I think I'm maybe 6 hours or so into the ps3 version so I may not mind starting over.

As for sports games I'm a football fan (NFL) and even though I'm not the biggest Madden fan i still play the game because its the only NFL game on the market.

They haven't released a Madden game on pc in years...

I made the mistake of pre-ordering the PS3 years ago, then camping out in front of Game Stop before the midnight release. Now that I'm in my mid twenties, I laugh at how stupid a decision that was. The moment I got home and turned on that PS3, it was totally bricked: BLOD was there. I've heard from numerous people that the PS4 isn't really sold out everywhere, and that major retailers kept a decent number of them for Black Friday to attract more buyers to come into the store rather than shop online. Not only that, but it gives them a reason to raise the price on the console, since demand is high and supply is "incredibly low." Like some of you on here, I'll wait until an updated PS4 comes out next year, just like I should've done with the PS3. BF4 and AC:Black Flag don't justify wasting time and money for a console.

Yeah you never know what to expect with the new release consoles. Always seem to have issues one way or another but so far my PS4 is working well. (knock on wood)

I don't see how age has anything to do with buying at release or waiting in long lines. Please don't tell me that at your mid twenties you are just so wise now. lol

We consumers will do stupid things if we want something bad enough. I'm 40 years old and if I want to wait in line for 2 hours for some new game at midnight; I'll do just that.

Getting a bricked unit sucks but for every bricked unit there are tons of working units out there.

Stores won't raise the price unless they do it by creating bundles. In that case it is usually still cheaper buying the bundle then all of the bundled items by themselves.

I overpaid for my PS4 but I don't give a shit. It's done, the money is gone and I have a PS4 right now. I'll just kick back, play some games, wait for some good AAA titles and be happy.

I should add that I have little patience for waiting. lol If I want something then I buy it. Having a good paying job and a wife that makes even more money means we can have things that we want. (Though I admit she mostly saves and I only spend a set amount per month generally)

I'm not going to the midnight launch but i kind of wish i was, it's kind of weird but my inner nerd wants to go and see what it's like. Agree with everything you said though, enjoy your PS4! Can't wait to get mine on the 29th :toast:

Hey sometimes it can be fun going to those midnight launches. Nothing is better than waiting a couple of hours and walking away with some game or other device we've been waiting for!

To be honest i usually just show up about midnight to get my release items because I usually preorder and once midnight hits the store processes everything fast. I'm usually on my way home by 12:15am.

Not saying age has a major role in it, but with maturity came the realization that these consoles aren't going anywhere since they're (a) not limited edition, and (b) in high demand. I'm an incredibly impatient person, but I'm also not willing to waste an entire night waiting outside a store (for hours) just to get a new gaming system. You said you're totally willing to do that: to each his/her own.

A friend of mine just lucked out buying his PS4. Some guy bought six PS4's and was selling them *below cost*: $399 MSRP plus 6.5% sales tax (Florida) is $425, and the guy was selling them for $420. Five bucks may seem like chump change, but there are people on eBay paying almost $600 for these systems, so he's losing out big time haha.

I'll wait until a "refined" version comes out during the Spring next year, and won't have any regrets....unless someone is selling a PS4 at/below MSRP; then I'll gladly become a hypocrite and buy it.

I can agree to that! And I too refuse to wait for hours and hours in line. I haven't done that yet though I have waited a couple hours on accasion. I see people camping out with tents and sleeping bags and that to me is insanity!

I'm going to head out and buy a ps4 game tonight. I don't think I can wait any longer but which game to buy? Its a hard decision when the choices are so limited.

If you don't have Battlefield 4, COD:Ghosts, or Killzone already, those are really your only options at this point.

I have BF4 for PC and I don't play FPS titles on consoles. I did pick up NFS: Rivals last night and so far its a lot of fun playing multiplayer as a cop and running down all the racers. I think I may grab Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The only thing holding me back is I could buy it on PC instead. I'm waiting to see some screenshots showing the differences between pc and ps4. The ps4 version looks a hell of a lot better than the ps3 version.

Black Fridays in my area are insane. No way I'm camping out to get one of a handful of anything. People out here in So Cal literally camp out for these sales.

I would get the console version. The PC version of Assassins Creed III was known for being badly optimised. Frame rate wasn't the best even on the fastest rigs.

My rig played AC III really well. There was a little slow down during the most intense situations but nothing that hindered gameplay. But I agree that i want to nab it on the PS4. I can pick it up new for $45 off most sellers on craigslist but finding someone that is no more than 30 minutes away is like pulling teeth.

Pretty sure it was just poorly threaded so it was very CPU-dependant.

Yea I just came back from a walmart black friday sale, I picked up a nice little tv cheap, but while there I noticed most of the people were pretty pissed off so I asked a friend who works there and he told me that the store had ps4's and xbox ones for a sale for 6:00PM but the store wanted to look good so they put them on sale at 3:00PM instead(with a bunch of other things that were supposed to be at the 6:00PM sale and a later sale) and they sold every PS4 and Xbox One they had for the sale and within 3 hours the store made nearly half a million dollars in sales(storewide) and the managers were happy but the customers who came to the store at 6:00 were really pissed off as the Ad said 6:00.

still last year that very store made people stand in line for 6 hours for a sale overnight in the store, it was pretty ridiculous but I would never camp outside for a sale(nor stand in a line for 6 hours period);) like I saw some people were right now driving home camped out in front of stores -_-.

edit: twas half a million not a million

Craigslist and ebay have people claiming that all the XBOX Ones are sold out and selling theirs for $650 to $800+ Yet today i walked into my local store and bought one of 6 sitting on the shelf.

By the way...pretty damned impressed with the Xbone so far. Ryse looks fantastic for a day one release and I'm having a blast with it. I have Forza 5 as well but I haven't installed it yet. Voice commands so far work well. Digging it!
