Help please,

Ok, so in the last 10 mins my computer kept freezing and then restarting on it's own. Then it would show boot loader missing after the restart. I checked in the bios and my ssd wasn't shown there. I removed and inserted the sata cable and then it would show up in the bios again. After that my computer booted only to have the same process happen again .........twice.

Now, just after the bios load screen it stops booting and does nothing.

My SSD is about 2 years old maybe a little more. Is that what it could be?

Thanks in advance.

So you will need to test it. Might have to format and plug it in as a second drive. First try a new SATA cable and different SATA port. If its not an Intel SATA port reinstall the SATA drivers. Test it with Crystal disk info and the manufactures RMA testing software.

I can confirm that it was my SSD that failed. I forgot I had a 250gb HDD from my netbook that had Win7 already on it. It booted right away.

I hope that my SSD is still under warranty.

And a word of warning to all SSD users. Don't leave anything important on your drive!! That SSD went without a clue.

same here my m4 went the same way as yours, tried this and that no luck.
with a new samsung 840 evo the whole show runs as perfectly as before.

i am glad i had all my personal files on a hdd so i lost nothing, just an hour for clean install. had all my firefox, crapcleaner and all the rest already on a usb stick, so it was not that difficult, just boring.

I pretty sure my SSD is still under warranty and if it is I should get a upgraded one cause mine isn't made any more. If it's not under warranty, I'll be going with a Samsung 840 Evo as well.

Hey,

I'm having the same problem right now. Just to confirm, with the PC powered off, you'd disconnect the SATA cable from the mobo, reconnect, boot on, and it'd be detected and bootable?

Upon restarting your PC the drive would disappear? Is this the problem you were having?

Cause that's me verbatim right now and all I did recently was move all my components from my old case to my new one. :(

Would love to get in touch with you soon, maybe I can take advantage of cyber monday and replace my SSD. For reference, I'm rocking an OCZ Vertex 2.

I my situation the ssd just stopped showing up in the bios (and therefore wouldn't boot) so I had to disconnect and reconnect the sata cable. Then, it showed up in the bios again but still failed to boot. Then after a restart the same thing would happen ( The ssd wouldn't show up in the bios again).

Mine was still under warranty and I just got it back yesterday. I was hoping for a new one but they fixed the one I had..:(

No, since they don't speak English very well. They just told me that they fixed it and tested it.
