Well, all I can say is both consoles have their merits, there were a few games I really wanted to try, like Forza, and Killzone, both haven't disappointed; my son loves Knack, and NFS: Rivals on PS4, me and my dad are playing Forza together and I also think Ryse and Killer Instinct are good games, but nothing to write home about.
Maybe it's better to wait for games that better utilize the hardware, but honestly I can say I was anxiously waiting for Forza 5, and it is the game I have enjoyed the most, currently there just isn't a game on PC that gets close to the cheer fun I've had with my dad, not since Gran Turismo came out on PS1 we have enjoyed a game together this much, the car models are awesome, the driving physics are unmatched and having Jeremy Clark guide you through most of the game is certainly a boon for both of us, since we are both gearheads
All in all, not a bad start for either system in my humble opinion, but I'm sure if you have a PS3 or 360, or a killer PC you're not missing much and there's no hurry to upgrade, as for questioning my reasoning ability, well people are entitled to their opinion, I'm just a platform agnostic gamer, and have been ever since my dad bought me my first Atari 2600
I'm just grateful we both can enjoy this pastime together after over three decades, and there as never been a better time to be a gamer IMHO.
Long story short, you can't go wrong with either platform
