So I am wondering what would be the best option using multiple SSD's to have enough space for OS + and Gaming? I ask because I don't want to purchase a 512GB SSD, nor put SSD's in a RAID. So what would be the best combination of two SSD's so I would have enough space for an OS and Programs, and a SSD for Gaming.

Would the load times of games like BF4 increase if they were on a SSD of its own with other games? Would it matter if I got a SSD for OS and HDD for games?

What do y'all think?

I had a combo of a 64GB and 180GB SSD. Former for OS, latter for Steam, therefore games.
Now, that is hell too little space for both. The 64GB OS SSD quickly ran dry and I had to struggle keeping it not full. And I was constantly uninstallig stuff on the gaming SSD.

I recently switched it around a bit, now my setup is:

64GB SSD: Miscellanious programs
180GB SSD: OS
2TB HDD: Movies, Music, Documents and stuff
1TB HDD: Steam and games

To be honest, during gaming the SSD was barely noticeable. Some loading times improved but it was negligible. Some programs, like Photoshop for example, profit greatly from an SSD, thats why I install such programs on the SSDs. On the OS side I guess its faster, I have not measured it and you may not even notice it.

So IF you wanna go SSD for OS, go for at least 120GB. For games, depends on how much stuff you wanna play. 180GB can be filled up pretty damn quick. I assume your 80 and 40GB drives are SSDs, so I'd put the OS on the 80 one and programs on the 40, use the HDD for games.

I do actually recommend him to get just 1 SSD since he doesn't have any. Just get a 256GB SSD for OS+Games and 2TB or above Hard disk for storage purposes. If any case your storage runs dry, buy another identical one and run it in RAID. Alsmost double performance + Double storage.

256gb SSD + 2TB WD RE4, Steam+ stuff is on the RE4 and BF4+OS on the ssd. Imo the RE4 is fast enough for games.

In my current system I zero SSD's. I am getting new parts in today, and I am just trying to figure out my hard drive situation.

It takes about 2-4 minutes now to load BF4 multiplayer from a cold start. And that is on my main drive. Would I see much of a difference if I would have BF4 on a SSD?
