i3-3217u vs. A6-5200

I'm looking to buy a new laptop in the 14" range.

I've narrowed it down to two laptops.

Both are ultraslim or ultrabook class 14".

One has an i3-3217u and the other has an A6-5200.

Gaming on this is important to me.

I know neither will handle modern games that well.

So which is better for gaming?

A6 no doubt

They're pretty darn close. The A6 just very slightly will edge it out in 3D apps. It's so negligible that you would probably be best off with the less expensive of the two.

i would look for something with a i5-4200u. that would be rather a match for the A6-5200 then the i3-3217u. another good up -and-coming chip is the i5-4250u.

I ended up jumping on a laptop with the i3-3217u because it was $100 cheaper than the A6, and a promo code that took another $10 off.

I couldn't pass it up, I hope it isn't too much worse than the A6 at games.

And after looking at the specs the i3 uses about 1/3 less power than the A6, so I'm hoping that means the battery lasts longer in the i3 laptop.

Both laptops are using 3-Cell batteries with right about the same capacities.
