As digital media is being created on many different devices using multiple types of memory, a need for more simplified and consolidated access to memory has arisen. To fill this need, Monster Digital has released the Mobile Personal Cloud, an innovative multi-function wireless media access hub. Monster Digital, a leading provider of premium memory solutions, is confident users will find the lightweight, smartphone-sized device an exciting addition their digital ecosystem, especially when it comes to mobile entertainment.

Flexible memory and storage access
The Mobile Personal Cloud is equipped with dedicated ports for SD and microSD cards up to 64 GB, as well as standard-sized type A USB for flash drives or external hard drives up to 2TB. Micro USB is used for wired connectivity and charging the onboard battery. When a PC or Mac is connected via the micro USB port, it acts as a reader and hub, simultaneously giving access to memory cards and/or a device plugged into the type A USB port. Not only can data be viewed or played, it can be transferred among the connected storage. For example, an HD movie file from an SD card can be copied to an external hard drive.

Wireless connectivity
The same functionality above can also be done wirelessly. The device has 2.4 GHz (b/g/n) encrypted Wi-Fi capability, which gives cable-free connectivity to PCs, Macs, tablets and smartphones. Files can be accessed via any web browser and by wireless enumeration, in which it operates as a network drive. With a streaming capacity of up to five devices at 720p (three devices at 1080p) and unlimited direct access, it's ideal for sharing media just about anywhere. Users can watch movies in the car or on a plane, collaborate on files at the office or share videos, wherever they are.

Free mobile app makes connectivity simple
With the Mobile Personal Cloud, the limits of mobile device memory are virtually eliminated. Engineered for incredibly easy use with Wi-Fi enabled smartphones and tablets, Monster Digital has its own mobile app available for free download. Mobile use will be of particular interest to frequent travellers. While perfect for enjoying entertainment on the go, mobile devices can quickly run out of storage space when loaded with HD video and music files. But now users can load additional entertainment onto SD and microSD cards (each with capacities as high as 64GB) or a USB drive, including external hard drives. Imagine a 2 TB tablet or smartphone! Content such as HD video or music can stream to their device and others for up to five hours with no external power as allowed by the on board 2000 mAh battery. The Monster Digital app is available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch on the App Store and for Android devices on Google Play.

Wi-Fi hotspot
Equipped with an Ethernet port, the Mobile Personal Cloud can also function as a Wi-Fi hotspot, giving wireless internet access to multiple users. Just plug in the wired internet cable and create your own wireless network. The device can also be switched to Wi-Fi repeater mode to allow simultaneous connection to the internet and connected media.

Battery back-up
And if all that wasn't enough, the Mobile Personal Cloud can also charge mobile devices via USB when a battery is running low.

Included with the device is a travel bag and micro USB cable. Monster Digital's Mobile Personal Cloud is available now at an MSRP of $99.99.

It's a Monster product. Of course it's bad.
