This means it's capable of storing data into the M-DISC to provide permanent storage of up to 4.7GB. In addition, the M-DISC is not vulnerable to failure like traditional DVDs and CDs, as it's made up of a special layer that undergoes any permanent physical change not fading or deteriorating.
