TeamGroup announced the new world record of Super Pi 32M (Air Cooling) on Jan. 22, 2014. Working together with HKEPC OC Lab in Hong Kong, TeamGroup overclocking memory module has achieved new record" 4min 38sec 329ms ", not only placed among the Top 5 world record of Super Pi 32M, but also the only non-extreme cooling record in Top 10 Global Ranking.

Super Pi 32M is the most popular test program for pro overclockers to compare the performance and stability of their computers. It's also one of the main items in HWBOT Global Ranking. By using Gauss-Legendre algorithm, it can accurately calculate π to 232 square roots--the 32M digits after decimal point and need extremely high stability of system memory. Beside the performance of processor, memory module clock and low latency timing are also the keys of computing speed. Shorten the computing time is the target for overclockers around the world to compete.

TeamGroup and HKEPC OC Lab cooperate together for memory module research program under codename "ProjectX." The main objective of the program is to upgrade the memory module overclocking performance and stability. The new world record of Super Pi 32M (Air Cooling) was created with sorted TeamGroup Xtreem Series DDR3 2400 4GBX2 memory module made with SAMSUNG DDR3 IC. This high clock and low timing memory module can perform stably under high operating voltage air cooling system.

After repeated tests, Mad Tse and John Lam, the supervisors of HKEPC OC Lab, picked up Intel Core i7-4770K processor with ASRock Z87M-OC Formula motherboard then overclocking the processor clock to 6.647Ghz under LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) cooling. Under the air cooling only condition, overclocking TeamGroup ProjectX-SEC memory module to DDR3-2860-CL9-12-12-17 1T then successfully finished the Super Pi 32M program within 4min 38sec 329ms and achieved the new world record of Super Pi 32M (Air Cooling).

The achievement is not only the best record of Super Pi 32M (Air Cooling) but also entered the Top 5 of Super Pi 32M global ranking. In the Top 10 of Super Pi 32M ranking now, " TeamGroup ProjectX-SEC "memory module is the only one with air cooling and all others are achieved with LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) to cool the memory module down to subzero temperatures.

TeamGroup ProjectX memory module is not commercially available models, the main function is to study and analysis features of memory ICs, modules, coolers, etc and establish the research/development foundation of TeamGroup memory module product line in the future to keep offering best memory products to end users.

The memory seems worthy enough.

Benchmark Scores A lot.
To get this straight, this article meant: ONLY the RAM is air cooled with everything else under LN2?

What's the point of having a world record ranking just for that? For me that's not really "non-extreme cooling", but what do I know? 8)

They did specify that the record is for RAM only, not for CPU. And indeed, the RAM is sick on those timings. I wonder how much can they go if they put the RAMs on LN2 also?
Btw, what was the voltage?
