XFX' debut in the gaming PC case arena, the Type 1 Bravo, started selling. The ATX mid-tower is priced at US $129.99. Measuring 518 mm x 232 mm x 562 mm, and made largely of SECC-steel, the case weighs about 10.4 kg. It features a sloped top, with a perforated front, and an edgy, opaque side panel with a flashy red bar featuring the XFX marking. Internally, there's room for some extremely long graphics cards (which is a given, since XFX also sells the HD 7990 under its own brand), and tall tower-type CPU coolers.

The XFX Type 1 Bravo offers room for three 5.25-inch drive bays with hinged valves for disc-trays, and eight 3.5-inch internal drive bays. The trays each feature mounting holes for 2.5-inch drives. The motherboard tray offers eight expansion slot bays, so you can install a dual-slot graphics card even in the bottom-most slot of your motherboard. Ventilation includes a 200 mm front intake, a 140 mm bottom intake, a 200 mm top exhaust, which alternatively be used as two 140 mm top exhausts, a 140 mm rear exhaust, and two 140 mm intakes along the side panel. Front panel connectivity includes two each of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0/1.1 ports, and HDA jacks.

I wished they'd use a different CPU cooler instead of the stock cooler for the pictures.

+1

ok, nice new outsides, nothing new inside. And the usb and audio ports placement is a limitation for "case on the desk" users.

All cases should have a port module that you can place either on top, at base, anywhere in the front panel.

Good first start, but it will not sell much. With no room to watercool, even with the AIO it will be left in the dust with other cases priced cheaper.

That's why the first 2 pics are of the rear of the case and not the front. The rear actually looks better than the front. ;)

Helllooooooooo Dirt Farm!

Oh I'm sorry, that is an offensive term. I meant to say: Dust mite habitat sanctuary...yes. Because us members of the PC master race must remember to show kindness to those less fortunate dust mites and provide a nice safe environment for them to live out their normal lives in peace away from cleansers and air purifiers which destroy their ecosystems and threaten to wipe out the species!

We all must do our part like XFX is. So join them friend. For just a dollar a day you can save the world one dust mite at a time...

I like the front design, it's a bit different at least from what I've seen but it seems a bit pricey for what it is.

Tiny cooler makes the case look roomier.

It looks good but i doubt its cooling potential, reminds me of the coolers on the XFX 79xx/78xx cards.

Yeah this case is a misfire for me unless it's cheap. Personally I think they need to have some stupid riduculous to penetrate the market like corsair did with the 800D.

This is a $50-$80 case. I don't see $150 here. It's certainly a decent looking case ,with interesting accent's , and a "unique'ish" look to it. Front bezel is a bit uninspired, I see a LOT of older Antec full tower cases traits in this case, it gives a bit of a Commercial, or buissness type feel with all of those grills. The "front" panel is Non-existent , which is a little troubling, I personally leave My X-Box controller plugged in, along with head phone extensions, amongst other items, and frankly having ANY cords protruding out of the top of your case is a tad shitty looking. I've Personally NEVER understood the reasoning behind Top side USB/3.5mm jack, who the hell wants that? Aside from a niche few who have their set-up's surrounded on either side, it is really not an ideal set-up. A bit of a risk for XFX to take with their first case(basing their build on a niche set-up type). IMO , the whole HDD cage "craze" NEEDS to be put in check. We no longer only have tiny HDD's, a 1Tb drive is less than $100 USD nowaday's, so why case makers keep making dedicated positions for 15 HDD's is absolutely absurd to Me, the only reason for that many drives is dedicated servers and the like, and what fool would buy a MID tower for that application? I KNOW that the problem is ALL (most) PC component manufacturers , and MANY other types of merchandise makers have the SERIOUS issue with product "confusion". :::for example::: XFX makes a Case, a mid size case...they sit down with "PC experts" , engineer's, and financial advisors, and they figure out what is Do-able. @ this point, the "idea" guys throw out all of these sound ideas, but TOO many of these "sound" ideas get put into one build, and what You end up with , is a Case that has a Little of EVERYTHING. I personally think that OEM's, NEED to move AWAY from making single products that they TRY to make appealing to Everyone, and start concentrating MORE on making "specialty" or "specific" products. So when You have a Company like XFX making their First case, they look at it like this......."We are making a MID size case, aimed @ enthusiast's. SO lets give it a PRIORITY on GPU space.....CPU cooler space......AIO, or custom loop space"...... SENSIBLE areas of development.THEN, with what space is left, they can account for 3 HDD's, NOT adding Removeable cages, thats Still the "frankenstien" tactic. Dedicated is a term that NEEDS to be a MORE common part of todays manufacturer's. they are all just TOO scared to commit to any ONE area of the market, because they dont want to upset their delicate consumers. At the end of the day, companies keep making "luxury" items like cases that cost $300 because people are foolish enough to buy them(we DONT need them, people just WANT them).unfortunately, these are the types of thinking, that feed the whole ambiguous product category. I have a $40 thermaltake case, that is VERY well ventilated, has PLENTY of space, and has NEVER given ME a problem either with adding in water loop's, multiple HDD's , DVD drive, or multiple GPU's.....etc. Hopefully , XFX will learn from this endeavour, and refine their process to better suite the more realistic PC enthusiasts needs.

OMG! Uninspired and ugly XFX should do use a favor and just fold, but shoot the marketing folk, so they can't move on and build abortions like this for other companies. This is what marketing, design and focuses groups came up with… God help us!

jboydgolfer - While I read and most all agree... XFX isn't listening, that lather you worked will/has gone on deaf ears.

When you're a newcomer to the PC Case making market, and not a single person has any faith in your Cases just yet (or any faith in your DD coolers for that matter), that kind of price tag isn't particularly welcome. Baby steps XFX...
