take the ram out and test each module one at a time inside the laptop. If that fails switch the old hard drive back in and see what happens.

Lastly, do you remember any of the BSOD codes?

Is it completely dead? Probably you changed boot to your dvd drive when you installed windows.

You can try to hit f12 to see if a screen comes up that lets you select what you want to boot from. if its showing up, select. HDD drive. (It can also be Western Digital, Seagate, Hitachi)

BSOD codes: BlueScreenOfDeath. Its a short blue screen with an error code wich gives an indication what the problem could be.
BIOS: Basic Input Output System. Its the screen that pops up before windows. Basicly when you press Del of F2 it brings you in a system that lets you configure
how your laptop handles your hardware.

What Freedom Eclipse means that you could try to disassemble your laptop, and get out the ram modules (the think memory of a laptop).

Example:
http://www.laptopinventory.com/LaptopInventory.php/Acer/Aspire/7750G/RAM

Get one module out of the laptop, and test it. if it doesnt work, take out the second, and replace it with the module you took out first. You then know this:

Or both ram modules are not working, or both are working good, and the problem is not related to your ram modules.

Hope this helps. If you need to know anything else, just ask.

It may not be the HD.

May be that your CPU has come unseated or, Memory dimms were unseated or dead.

This will involve removing the entire back of the computer, in a static free area, and removing and replacing lots of small screws and wires.

It is doable, even for a novice. However, find your way over to YouTube and search for your model family. I am sure you will find more than a couple of videos that will help immensely.

You should devote about two hours and work in a very organized manner, re-seat the CPU, then the memory. You will need some thermal compound, $5 or $6 of a good name brand variety. Put it all back together and then have a paper and pen handy to write down any codes that appear, if it fails again.

Google the codes, come back here and ask what they mean.

Follow the sage advice of the wonderful tech heads that wander these halls and problem over.

A HD problem or a damaged Windows install shouldn't cause those symptoms. I believe it can be a RAM/battery/charger problem or something loose inside. Also try a Clear CMOS

Did you try running it with the battery removed? Or running it on battery power/another charger?

Also just disassembled te laptop again checked everything to make sure its connected as it should, still no differents... Starts up for about 2 seconds and then shuts down again.
Also no beeping sounds when turned on.

I had a laptop whose RAMs almost fell out of their sockets without doing anything special, simply one day I turned it on and got no video on screen. Reseated them again and all fine. It can happen in movable devices.
