Hi guys spec is below. I currently have my 3570k at 4.5Ghz stable after a few hours of several P95 testing, temps hit a max of 77*c under 100% load.

I have all the settings in the bios set to auto, turbo boost is off and multiplier set at x45. All energy saving/down clocking idle settings still auto/active. Volts get reordered at 1.308 under 100% load in CPUZ and HWMonitor.

Now it seems if I use the offset voltage to decrease the voltage by 0.010 I get BSOD. If I up the multi to 46 I also get the BSOD.

Now im guessing unless I start going into more advanced manual settings etc then this is the sweet spot for my chip? Less voltage = BSOD, more multi and voltage = BSOD.

Any help or comments much appreciated.

which prime 95 test?

77 is high for blend but not so bad for the small test.

you have gone past the easy gains of overclocking. set it to x44 and forget about it or start setting the volts and timings yourself and test, test, test.

intel xtu is good, the benchmark is a great fast stability test which monitors temps and volts as it runs.

Yeah exactly what I though, I don't have the patiance to play around too much more tbh. I am more than happy with my current OC.

77*c is using small and large FFT tests. Not bad for a £15 cooler tbh lol. Cooler Master TX3.

Yea and Ivy Bridge runs hot, especially certain cores. Hence the popularity of delidding. That's not to infer I did it...

if it is the same temp on small and large fft test it would make me think you (auto) are already giving it too much voltage and it is thermal throttling.

small should be hotter, much hotter.

try using that intel xtu thing, it shows thermal throttling and cpu usage and such. oc on the fly with it too.

Cheers, I will take alook and see what I can come up with!

Edit: The intel app show no thermal thotteling. I might try and sat a manual voltage a 1.308 and see how high I can get the multi.

what level of temp do you hit from its benchmark?

I'm running i7 3770k @ 4.4 auto everything and it just runs great. I tinkered with manual OC when I first built this machine a year ago and 4.5 is the most I could get it to run so I just put it 4.4 auto. The highest voltage I see when I'm fully stressing all 8 threads is 1.28 everything in bios on Auto 4.4 OC

Yes you are at the sweet spot for your chip unless you delid.

With air cooling, over 1.3v results in really diminishing returns on ivy.
