My Wearied Rig Needs Upgrade

Hello !! i am new to these Forums so Please Ignore My Mistakes :D

Here is my Current Specifications

Core i7 2600 (non k)
Intel DH61WW Motherboard
GTX 680 ( Reference one )
Corsair 2x 4gb 1333mhz Sticks
Corsair GS750 PSU
ocz Vertex 4 128gb
1 x WD Green 2tb
2 x 1Tb Drives
1 x 320gb 2.5in Drive
2 Corsair AF fans
a Samsung DVD Drive

so the real deal for me is my mobo , right now i am working with tools like sony vegas and learning 3dx and to work with these even more i need to upgrade my system ram and need good hell of storage
right now my mobo Intel DH61WW Motherboard only supports 2x 4gb 1333mhz sticks and with gtx 680 installed it covers 2 of the sata ports completly and there is no way to slip the sata cables under that card

so i can only use 2 out of 4 sata ports and i have plugged in my ssd and one 1tb drive on them and using a sata 2 usb adapter and using 2tb drive in it and left dvd drive , 1tb drive & 320gig drive are just there sitting like a duck xD
on the top of that i cannot use both af fans since there are not enough ports for both of them
and i also have 4 front usb headers but my mobo only supports 2 so 2 of them are sitting there as well

in Short i need advice for a new mobo that can make my pc work properly
it should have 6 or more sata ports and 4 ram slots enough slots so that both af and cpu fan can work properly and possibly have matx form factor ( i believe thats what my case can support )
`
case info :
http://www.price.infovisionmedia.com/2013/11/zebronics-desire-cabinet-zeb-888r.html

and motherboard list ( suggest one of these if possible )

Thanks :D

You seam to have forgotten to link the mentioned motherboard list.
Also since the pictures of the case dont show its interior I would like to ask, if the sata ports were along the plane of the motherboard ie flat against it or at 90º to it atm ie does your gfx card directly cover the sata connectors.
This is just to help in deciding on a new mobo , you would not want to buy new then realise the satas still cannot be used.

i did put the link in the reply and it seems that it needs moderation .. but list is basically all the available mobos on flipkart (google it)
yes my gfx does cover sata ports completely , and ports on mobo are vertical ( 90*) if they were horizontal then the problem would have never occurred

You have any open PCI-E slots? If so, why not just buy a board with multiple SATA3 ports for that open slot?

Given that your system is pretty good as is cjcerny is spot on especially if you also got 16gd dual ram sticks at 1600mhz and yes you should be fine running ram at those speeds most are for eg I have a i7 920 thats rated at the same max of 1333 but works fine with tje memory clocked higher.

Oh and a few pciex add in sata controllers also have usb3 ports and typically need pciex x4 max

Both of these have extra fan headers, the SATA connectors look to be offset from PCI slot 1, they are both a huge step up in chipset, Z77 and they are both Micro ATX (even though your link to your case says it can fit an ATX). Also, not knowing your budget, these are priced in the lower half of FlipKarts LGA1155 ATX-MicroATX listing.

Oh, and the both allow for up to 32GB memory OC-ed to 2400.

So, there is my input. Good Luck! :toast:

The cheapest board that fits all your needs would be the Asrock Z77 Pro4 at Rs 8681. If you don't trust Asrock boards, the Asus P8Z77-V LX is next, at Rs 12599. I prefer Asus myself, because they have the best RAM compatibility and BIOS, and I've never had a problem with an Asus board. Also, the case you listed is kind of small, and doesn't seem to have USB 3.0 ports in front, or any front fans for all your hard drives.

That ASRock only supports CPU and one case fan.

Well maybe one of these two:
http://www.flipkart.com/asrock-z77-...b_36&ref=51dedbdc-03e7-43b0-95e0-a42fc41b1b31
or
http://www.flipkart.com/asrock-fata...b_39&ref=51dedbdc-03e7-43b0-95e0-a42fc41b1b31
or something a bit cheaper:
http://www.flipkart.com/gigabyte-ga...b_33&ref=ec397b30-bad3-4625-bf6f-bc6db2fcd37c
This is the absolute lowest I would recommend (there is no way your card can cover these sata ports even if it would be triple slot):
http://www.flipkart.com/asrock-h77-...b_24&ref=ec397b30-bad3-4625-bf6f-bc6db2fcd37c
it has
- 2 x CPU Fan connectors (1 x 4-pin, 1 x 3-pin)
- 2 x Chassis Fan connectors (1 x 4-pin, 1 x 3-pin)
- 1 x Power Fan connector (3-pin)

Thanks guys i Appreciate all your replies

i dont think my Current board have one and if so then a new pci-e board will not address all the problems and on the top of it my local suppliers are idiots and the fact that they send me 2600 instead of 2600k and 2x 1 tb drives instead of 2tb drive !! , i can only imagine what will they send me if i ask something even a little bit complicated like that

ASUS P8Z77-VLX seems the board that fits in all the needs , i wanted to ask is it possible to use do a SLI on this board and by any chance can i run 2x 4gb ram sticks along with 2x 8gb ram's , not sure if anything like that is possible :p , it looks like a pretty good board overall considering i will be going around 2-3 years with this build with a cosmos 2 slipping in june :D

No SLI on P8Z77-V LX, only CrossfireX (only one fully wired PCIe x 16 slot). To do SLI you'd need the P8Z77-V LK, P8Z77-V LE Plus, or P8Z77-V. And yes, any of these boards will run dual channel asymmetrical (with frequency/timings set to the lowest spec modules).

Go for the ASUS boards .
The ASUS website is easy to navigate and update the mobo.

The mobos mentioned so far seem to be mid-range though will do the job.
You're a bit limited with Flipkart.

Get that ASUS Sabretooth if it's within your budget.

And you know you need 64bit W7 for the extra RAM to be of any relevance?
