team vulcan 2133mhz woes

so I got these from newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313417
great looking and the specs are not bad. BUT I cant get them to post at rated speeds. I tried xpm no post, then tried manually puting the timings in and voltage but it wont post. in fact anything over 1750mhz wont post. is it just my crappy i7 memory controller?

Yes, you have an older i7 and the memory controller isn't as good as the current cpus.

the thing is I have had 2133mhz ram in the past no prblem just with 2X2gb configs. I had some gskill tridents that did 2400mhz stable. There must be something im doing wrong here. It has been a year or so since I did much tweaking so i'm a tad rusty. I have my charef and chbref on auto. i have my imc at 1.32-1.35v dram at 1.65-1.66v

All I can say is all ram is different and some motherboards and ram work better together. Have you tried loosening secondary and possibly tertiary timings?

Reviews on that ram in the link you gave indicate others have had problems with the XMP setting stability.

I'll have to really push the imc and see what I can do here. if it dont run rated live with it.
