is anyone getting the 4 white square boxes that flash in the top right hand side of the screen, or is it just me?
(my ping is always in the low 20's)
its just annoying and some times i notice a stutter when these boxes appear.

Packet loss I think and on the server side, so its EA and not your ISP.

Go into the option to test the network within the game and it tells you what they all mean.

I have been getting so much rubber banding after the latest patch. :(

Finally had a good round after sucking for days. Full 400 ticket match on Firestorm went 11-0 in same tank the whole time until there was like 50 tickets left. It was destroyed but I managed to get away. Nailed two choppers with Sabots as well; second one was going down already and just happened to be falling right in my sights. It was an easy shot but still awesome as the thing just blew apart right over my head while still traveling pretty fast.

That map is sooo much better than it's BF3 counterpart. The whole atmosphere is darker and more foreboding and there is just so much more fire. Things really explode and burn now. As it it should be for a map named as such.

I just got the sabot. Haven't even used it yet. I hear it is a pretty straight shooter :) I may play a round tonight just to check it out. I have that and the staff on load out. That way I can switch back and forth firing while it reloads and get pretty consistent fire on a target. The sabot should make it easier as you don't really have to account for drop do you ?

It's the staff shell. That's the one that defies the laws of gravity. Sabot has an awful drop.

The "new" Firestorm is super!, love it. Gulf of Oman too!, the sand storm are awesome.

Yeah Sabot just has increased velocity as no explosive head. I usually roll with HE.

I'm done with this retarded series. People want maps like Locker/Metro, then make them like Guilin Peaks. Comments I've seen say things like "it will help break the nade spam", etc etc. This is just a band-aid solution to the problem of poor map design. You don't have this problem on Guilin Peaks because you don't have a 5 year old designing maps. The best part was the comment about squad work. The only squads that are going to use this are going to be the clans that are in the same server and their going to pub stomp the server. I really think DICE is delusional about a squad full of randoms actually working together and I'm sure they've got their mythical data that backs up that delusion.

Personally I play the BF series because it's not Lockers/Metro. I'd play COD/CS if I wanted that. Vehicles is going to be an afterthought in BF5. I really hope I'm wrong, but DICE seems more interested in trying to get the COD market then trying to make a BF game. Combine this with the rumor that BF5 is going to be police themed and I don't see how BF5 does not become what MW2 became for the COD series.

What is even more unfortunate is the developer's packages being locked down for BF3 and 4. If not, I'd be perfectly happy to play user created mods for years on this engine. Instead, I'll wind up playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure with Brandon.

thanks, I thought it was my end. Yeah since the last patch my online experience has been ruined (it was bearable at the start)
why cant they make Battlefield like the good old BF2 :(

Wow. Riot shields?

I don't mind BF having infantry only small maps and modes, but shifting BF away from large scale maps and vehicles sucks. Unfortunately, Dice hasn't found the balance with their map designs.

Dice really needs to let another developer take over Battlefield or let BF5/COD be made by another developer. Separate it out. I'm sure EA would be glad to make money off of two Battlefield franchises.

Yeah, well, there are still vehicles and I doubt a riot shield will do much against a tank shell. That said, I wish today was April 1st already and this was just a bad joke.

Did you know you can setup a server to be infantry only? You can play all the game modes, just without vehicles (vehicles in just a box to check or uncheck in PRoCon). There's only one server that I know of (that has any steady flow of traffic). They run the Conquest small maps with 64 players, but it makes for better playing then Metro and Lockers and not as fast paced as Domination can be.

I'm fully aware of the variety of server setups available. Some of them can be really fun.

But you missed my point completely. Dice is committing poor map design and pushing for the COD type of playstyle in the base game and dlc, at the expense of "wide open" Battlefield maps and gameplay.

I'm not opposed to close quarter maps and domination modes but rather it be a separate game. Heck, Dice can call it BFBC3.

players though. I think 48 as opposed to 64. I always get trashed when I go on 64 man servers.
That SRAW is pretty sweet for shooting down choppers if they hover.

I'm fully aware of the variety of server setups available. Some of them can be really fun.

But you missed my point completely. Dice is committing poor map design and pushing for the COD type of playstyle in the base game and dlc, at the expense of "wide open" Battlefield maps and gameplay.

I'm not opposed to close quarter maps and domination modes but rather it be a separate game. Heck, Dice can call it BFBC3.

I'm sorry, as you said infantry only and I thought I'd bring up this game mode option that I don't think very people are aware of in the BF community (generally speaking). I was not necessarily bringing it up as a counter point.

I do think that DICE bends to the cries of X vehicle is too strong, it needs to be made easier to destroy or scare it away. This leads to bad vehicle/anti-vehicle balance and also maps like Locker/Metro. That's one of the things I kind of like about infantry only mode is that you don't feel like you have a vehicle (whether tank, helo, or MRAP) breathing down your neck and feel forced to play as an engineer in order to just survive on the map. It also does not lead to nade spam since the maps are open and there are a lot of flanking routes. I really think that DICE already has an answer to the COD play style, in the current maps they have, with out needing (for example) Domination. I just don't think they're aware of it.

I love the SRAW because it is so versatile. I became very accustom to the RPG and found the SRAW hard to figure out for a while. What I was having a hard time getting used to is the slower speed of the SRAW when it leaves the launcher compared to the RPG. Also realize that while it is wire-guided, if you get some object in between you and the target you want to his, the rocket will turn around and try to hit what ever just crossed the crosshairs as the crosshairs act also as a kind of laser pointer. It will even catch rockets coming off a vehicle and will throw off the missile.

Did you know you can setup a server to be infantry only? You can play all the game modes, just without vehicles (vehicles in just a box to check or uncheck in PRoCon). There's only one server that I know of (that has any steady flow of traffic). They run the Conquest small maps with 64 players, but it makes for better playing then Metro and Lockers and not as fast paced as Domination can be.
