I have 4gb of ddr2, old 32gb Samsung ssd with 320gb hd, and a nvidia 8500 video card in it. It will be a nice system for them but just feel the cpu is weak.

if you need some more hdds let me know.. i have a ide 250gb hdd i can send you (and a bunch of smaller 80gb drives)

also that 32gb sdd is a bit on the small side., i would suggest installing the os on it, and then having the user profiles / program files on the other drive. (if you need help on how to do that let me know)

Thanks and that is how I have it installed right now with a 320GB Samsung F3 I found laying around. I'm still looking for a stronger CPU for this system. So far it is

Athlon x2 3600+
4Gb DDR2 (4x1GB DDR2-667)
BFG 8500 256Mb
Samsung 32GB SSD and 320gb F3 hard drive

I really think with a 5000+ up to a 6000+ 89W would make this a good system for them.

Which board are you getting (sorry didn't read thru the whole thread)? May be you can OC it up to 2.4+

It's a stock Acer T180 so either a ECS or Foxconn 6100 AM2 board.
