Is there a real steal on the gpu market now?

Hey guys, so is there? I'm talking probably the top of the mid-range or the middle of the crusty upper range. Just before that diminishing return begins to spike.

Not specifying a manufacturer requirement; I was told on #IRC that there's not been much specific developments aside from component counts and fewer nanometers per transistor, so it isn't like I'd be locking myself out of a crucial directx or opengl version in hardware! I'm presuming that lower models just have feature X Y or Z deactivated to fit the product into a market, but I'm only requiring 90% of the most current gpu features. I hope that's a clear enough description. I know something good's out there and doesn't cross too far past the $200 line. Thanks

Most radeon 7950s would fit that bill with nvidia you need to go for a 750 ti or 660 ti if you can get one.
Why not buy used, I've had mostly positive results from such a purchase.

7850 with overclock/R7 265 is the same thing and managed a 23% GPU overclock for $130 with good thermal performance.

Pretty much impossible to predict into the future, so best bet is to keep a keen eye and when you find a great day, snag it up.

I had been looking for weeks and I finally snagged a deal today on eBay in a used card, which I thought was very unlikely.
