Crackling audio in games.

Hello. I have an extremely annoying problem at the moment. The audio will crackle and lag in games and is fixed by putting the game into windowed mode. But this in some games can be very annoying as some don't offer a fixed borderless window and it really annoys me.

Games affected:

- Diablo 3
- Starcraft 2
- Dawn of War: Dark Crusasde

Does anyone have a fix for this so I can play Fullscreen again?

I believe it may have something to do with the VSYNC. Is there a way to permanently diable VSYNC in all games?

are you using the default windows drivers on your soundcard or the drivers that came with your motherboard?

I'm currently using my windows drivers. But it happened on the motherboard drivers as well.

Disabling VSYNC seems to fix the issue and I can go fullscreen. and not get the crackling audio.

Oooh creepy, sounds like your GPU is causing interference with your sound through the motherboard. I had that with my Xonar D2X and my 7950's in crossfire. Eventually switched to a different GPU.
