So I have a DVI KVM switch (Avocent SC4UAD-001) I finally decided to hook up. My main computer, which I use DVI with works fine.
Today I found out that you cannot use one of those adapters that come with video cards to use a VGA source on a DVI monitor.
The Interwebz suggested I use the VGA source on the VGA port of my monitor (Dell U2312HM), but.....that kind of defeats the whole purpose of me getting a KVM switch!
TL;dr: Want to use VGA computer on DVI KVM switch. What adapter/cable do I need?
From the description this adapter should do the trick, but I want to be sure before I go out and buy adpaters and cables only to find out it won't work!
