Acer Announces the GN246HL 144 Hz Gaming Monitor

Acer today unveiled the GN246HL, a new, gaming-focused 24-inch monitor with a refresh rate f 144 Hz and a response time of just 1 ms. Acer's display makes use of a TN panel and features a an LED backlight, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 350 cd/m2 brightness, a 100,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and D-Sub, DVI, and HDMI 1.4a connectivity.

The GN246HL is set to become available at the end of this month priced at 279 Euro.

I currently have an Acer 23.6" monitor. For the price, you can't really go wrong. My biggest gripe with it is the refresh rate/response time. Obviously 60hz is old news, but the 5ms response time on mine seems a bit overrated...Games like Far Cry 3 or anything with a lot of trees and grass in the environment make my monitor seem like an old LCD with a response time of 20ms+...the ghosting with all that foliage really makes my brain hurt sometimes.

but FC3 has motion blur as part of its graphics, so you need to confirm that taking a screenshot while you're moving shows up different than what you see in realtime

on top of that, lower ms doesnt solve the blur caused by our eyes, the only way is to insert a black flicker
