The problem with Intel is it's not as fast the hyper threading may make it run faster then a 4 core but Intel 4 core HT vs amd 8 core HT (Intel HT hyper threading amd HT hyper transport) I'll take the amd its cheaper and its better for gaming amd HT runs process 2 times faster Intel HT runs 2 at a time example a 2Ghz processor amd and Intel Intel's HT runs 2 process at 2Ghz amd's HT runs 2 process at 2 times that spear but Intel is better at multi processing for servers amd Is better at gaming it runs games faster then Intel
Uh.. Very biased much? It's not the fault of a company of their CPU runs better/worse in a game.. It's the games fault. Some games can use all 8 cores that AMD gives, and some run better on a more powerful core, like what Intel gives.

Still leaves me to wonder how the hell you messed up such a nice rig.

I may have been miss led on how I was taught about PC's I have never gone to school for it and I am trying to get enough money for it ever thing I know is aether self taught or taught by friends or family I believe the true trolls are the ones bashing me but troll or no troll the point is if what I said is wrong or rude I'm sorry and didn't mean to get anyone upset I'm not a idiot who would find a random webpage and make others feel upset because my life is miserable or that I'm upset to and spread the dieses called anger. I don't try to tell people that "your wrong" "your an idiot" or anything like that because it makes the situation worse I try to see why there angry or ignore them. I'm sorry for anything I said that offended you. This is all off the topic sorry for the deviation I don't know what psus is. I ment hypertransport not hyperthreading I'm sorry for that misunderstanding I'll try to fix that faster next time. And gdallsk I dint know what you mean but I've always hated Windows I'm thinking of going Linux I might have less problems. And I'll check all the comments on this thread and see if what I missed something I did try those things you guys said I must have missed something. And hilux services I'll try using one stick of ram and see if it's that I fell asleep after my last message I was very tired.

Good luck running games on linux, mostrequire an emulation layer just to run, which in turn makes games operate slow.
Fyi I read books and got experienced with hardware and windows, its not your hardware but your os is trashed.

this the first time logging in to this website using my pc i might have majorly missed spelled words my phones auto correct was handy at times except with the word hyperthreading and hypertransport. anyway i only was think about it i was told windows 8 runs faster then 7 but is not great is that true if not ill get windows 8 instead the windows i have where from previous PC's not specifically for that pc and thay all give me problems so ill have to buy another whole new os cd witch is annoying.

video card is 82°c, benchmark is 416, it failed the stability test, cpu 50°c i ran a cpu test to see how hot it got running for 2hrs

Keep windows 7, try reformat, run with minimal hardware: 1 stick of ram, no wireless card, see if it still runs bad, if no, then add the ram back and see. If it runs bad then try memtest86 from a bootable usb stick. If it fails memtest, then figure out which stick is the bad one. If everything works fine try the wireless card. If it starts having problems with the wireless card installed then thats the problem. You could try the videocard from the other machine to see if its your 660ti that is bad (unlikely but who knows?) You have to isolate what hardware is bad instead of just throwing it all away for a new system.

Edit your posts. Instead of of double and triple posting every hour. Moderators will get on you about that. Better me than them.

And second.

No don't get that. Id recommend a powerline adapter that plugs into your standard wall outlet, then you just connect a cat5e Ethernet cable.

Or just run an Ethernet cable to wherever the router is.

Also don't get Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste or the cleaner.

Just get some Arctic Cooling MX4 paste, and a bottle Isopropyl from any local drug store ( Bartel, Wallgreens)

@Andathar: Perhaps you could try and start over. Looking at your system specs, you've got a decent system, and it shouldn't be running poorly. As I understand it, your problems be condensed into your computer runs slow, you have some high temperatures, and your Wireless card keeps dropping out at times. Is that correct?

If you could, please take a look through all the suggestions, and ignore some of the harsher comments, just look at suggestions, and list out what you have done so far in regard to each suggestion. This would be a good way of getting a good grip on what all is going on, and what else can be looked into.

I think if you could wrap all that up in one post, it may help all of us focus on helping you. It's just my idea to help you focus as well and maybe then we can all move forward in a more organized manner.

Typo on HyperTransport, understandable, letting brother fiddle with CPU, red flag, repeatedly paying what sounds to be an incompetent PC store to tinker, red flag, severely unbalanced spec with FAR too much PSU power, red flag, implying Intel is crap for gaming, sorry pal, that's the last straw.

I was going to offer some detailed advice, but as is often the case with scenarios like this, it feels like another one of those you can lead a gaming horse to water situations, but that doesn't mean he'll take a drink. So I won't waste my time with that.

I'd be more patient if you didn't sound so inclined to be over opinionated without the proper knowledge to even be objectionable. It sounds as if you're not even able to determine what is or isn't a good shop to have work done.

For vague advice I'd say just salvage what you have if you can, and trade up end of 2015 when the new DirectX debuts. Only then will we really know how much CPU/GPU power is required going forward, because MS' new low level API could be quite a game changer.

End of 2015 will be a good time to build for several reasons. The new DirectX as mentioned, and the new DDR4 RAM standard. The high end Maxwell cards will probably be affordable by then too. There should also be by then several BGA socket MB/CPU combos in the budget class of hardware with exceptional pricing if you're so inclined, and no chance of bending pins. LOL
