Japanese peripherals maker Scythe announced a 300W variant of its CorePower line of PSUs in the SFX form-factor. Measuring 125 mm x 63 mm x 100 mm, these units offer continuous 300W delivery, and connectors that include 24-pin ATX, two each of SATA and Molex, and one Berg. There's no mention of PCIe connectors. All modern electrical and thermal protections are on offer. The unit is cooled by an 80 mm fan that can spin at speeds of up to 2,200 RPM. Scythe didn't announce pricing.

I find the SFX standrad pretty strange, but some companies like Silverstone are trying really hard to push it forward. I welcome this one as well. The more, the cheaper :D. I ain't paying 50-80 euros for SS version anyway :).

Had to actually look up what a Berg connector was. Couldn't they have just said floppy power? o_O

Man that sends me way-back... The inclusion of the "floppy connector" is so late 80's- early 90's. PSU's really need to dump that, if I had a need for one today there's just a molex to floppy adapter.

Yea, while not offering an efficiency compliance/label/approval, and some modular at this stage comes across like serious "ho-hum" even if they're just starting to put their toe in the SFX waters.
