Hi :)
The cooler of my HD 5830 broke, so I need a new one. Do you think a Arctic Accelero L2 is enough to cool this card?

Looks pretty low-end for me... I'd go for a Accelero Mono Plus or even Twin Turbo II even they're more expensive. But also way better, and probably fits for your next VGA card too. :)

the card is a low end either ... a 5830 ... if it was a 6850/6870 i would go for a mono plus but not a twin turbo II...

the L2 is even recommended as usable on a 5850/6850 the other option is a L2 plus ...
i doubt the OP want to spend more on a 5830 and use a TTII on a next card ... (and loose the warranty ...) better of with a custom design when taking a new gpu
(ok i used a Prolimatech MK-26 on a GTX580 but it was already out of waranty)

oh well after reading some review the L2/L2 plus would be indeed more than enough but the Mono Plus is cheap enough to be a good candidat

The 5830 just works in my second PC, so I don't really want to spend much money on that old card. So you think I can go with the L2 or not?

hmmm, a L2 had problems at 7V cooling a friends 5770, the 5830 uses a bigger die with more watts(5770 = 107W, 5830 = 175 W) stick to 12V at least,

I use a Arctic cooling accelero S1 with two 120 mm fans at 500 rpm in my bacup PC at my parents, it is very effective, if you can find a old accelero s1 and have a spare 120 mm fan that will be a good fit.

I'd go for the S1 and add a fan to that. Kept my HD4850 vmodded cool with a 92mm fan.

Okay, then I'll go with the S1. It's a bit more expensive, but I think it's the best option.

Thanks for your help :)

No problem. Surely a S1/S1+ with a fan outperforms the L2, so you won't be disappointed :) Price for S1 Plus is about 25 euros here in Finland, so probably the price in Germany won't be much higher.

I actually have an L2 Pro I never installed on anything (bought it for an old PC that I stopped using). The maximum for it is 100w while the HD 5830 has a maximum TDP of 175w. Never understood why its on the compatibility list. That cooler is more for something like an HD 7770.
