Well I have $6k so it's not like i couldnt afford it either way. System is approaching 3 years old come Christmas running 4.5GHz 24/7 since.

I do stream sometimes and I feel like the extra oomph coming from the new CPU would help out with that.

Another reason im thinking of doing it is because id only need the cpu/motherboard. I have a spare case, hdd, RAM, power supply (i think XD), video card, and then the current CPU/motherboard im using right now. Would make a full new system and I might be able to make that money back just selling that.

I can't really see anything you need to upgrade. But really, only YOU can determine when you should upgrade. For me it's when what I have can't be tweaked any further in order to play games at top quality. For you it may be different. And for someone else it's something else entirely.

well, why upgrading to haswell? personnally, the 2500k @4.5ghz is more than enought... even at stock speed.. You woN't see any gain in BF4 and alot of other games.. FOr me, buying a 4690 (K variant when it will release):

:D

but if you prefer:

If it is only for gaming, don't change... if you do 3D or anything else I would go with an i7... but seems only for gaming, your rig is just perfect..

see, I still have a 2700k + HD7970 and it is far enought.. :)

$500 for a side-grade at best.
