Delidding Questions

I have already dellided my intel i5 4670k but I have scratch the chip and I can now see copper wires on the scratch what should I do? should I put clear nail polish on it? btw my CPU still runs.

I put noctua nt-h1 on the dellided cpu but now I just ordered CLU and I know it is a conductive thermal paste. what should I do with the VRM's should I put NT-H1 on the vrm's or clear nail polish?

Seriously no offense, but if you have to ask these questions, I don't think delidding that chip was in your best interests.

I the first place I really don't need to put any tin or silicon on the VRM because I am using noctua nt-h1 wich is non conductive.

I just want to know what is the best way to cover the VRM if I use CLU. I have seen lot of suggestions in other forums like nail polish, liquid electric tape, silicon, MX-4 or any other thermal paste.

It wont. The CPU heat makes it become semi permanent, just clean area with alcohol let dry and place/press it on slowly. Only you can remove it. Use a quality tape roll like 3M.

Yeah, You can use 4 strips of tape to cover all 4 sides around the cpu. Whatever overlaps the corners trim with scissor.

Yup it still works with out plastic dip but soon I would use CLU as my thermal paste, plastic dip is for protecting it from shorting out.

well you could use a whole bunch of stuff. some use clear nail varnish.. but for the sake of ~£3-4 i would just get proper pcb lacquer either as a pen or a vial with a brush..
dont think i would use plastidip personally.

your main concern is that it will oxidize and it will turn green, and then it will corrode and then it will be dead.
so you need to stop oxygen getting to it.. so use proper lacquer. that will also protect it from shorts as a bonus..
just let the lacquer dry for as long as you can stand to, be sure its all dry and none of it is wet underneath.

Can't find a pcb lacquer on a vial I can only find the spray one at handyman.

But I have an RTV silicon at home can I use that?

lquid rubber stuff contain nasty solvents and curing agents while relatively stable when dry some of them don't play nice when wet

put some electrical tape on it and call it a day if you feel the need you can put some rubber cement over the tape or buy some pcb coating
