Sunnyvale, CA-April 12, 2007 - OCZ Technology Group, a worldwide leader in innovative, ultra-high performance and high reliability memory and components, today announced the ModXStream Series, a new line of power supplies designed to offer consumers a combination of OCZ's legendary PSU architecture and an efficient modular cable management system. Available in 780W and 900W models, the high efficiency ModXStream offers the industry's highest performing modular power supplies on the market.

As a gamer or case modder, modular cabling is a necessity when building a cool and orderly system. To optimize airflow and eliminate cable mazes, the ModXStream power supply is equipped with EZMod technology to allow complete customization of your power system by utilizing only the cables you require.

The ModXStream was engineered to be the quietest PSU available so gamers can hear their games and not their PC. Kept ultra-cool with a load-controlled 120mm fan, the powerful ModXStream still remains virtually silent and supremely cool even at peak loads.

Next generation platforms and high performance graphics cards are essential to modern gamers and enthusiasts. Complete with dual PCI-Express cables and six serial ATA connectors, the rock solid ModXStream is built to provide sufficient output to power demanding GPU and setups. With a sustained output of 780W or 900W and four +12V rails to provide uniform distribution of power, the ModXStream is the superlative solution for and driving today's higher end systems.

"The new series of 780W/900W ModXStream PSUs extends the range of high-end modular power supplies to new performance dimensions," commented Dr. Michael Schuette, VP of Technology Development at OCZ Technology. "Whereas most modular PSUs hit the ceiling at 600W, the new OCZ ModXStreams are specked to comfortably support even the most demanding graphics processors along with multi-core CPUs."

The OCZ ModXStream provides Universal Input and Active PFC (Power Factor Correction) to effectively regulate input voltage across worldwide power grids and maintain an economical, yet stable supply of power.

All OCZ ModXStream power supplies come backed with an industry-leading three year OCZ PowerSwap Warranty for the ultimate peace of mind.

Hah, they finally released it. I'd been nagging tony and the gang for a decent modular since the crappy evostream (What idiot decided a high-speed always 100% 80mm fan was a good idea??)

I wonder if these suffer from the same ripple problem the GameXstreams suffer from

Looks like a higher end mod supply. Love the 20A on the 12v rails though. Also, if load sharing was enabled, this would be awesome.

Me also....... and if they're saying 80% efficient on paper then that probably means 75-78% in the real world. I look forward to an honest review.

another example of how ocz is flooding the market with products that offer very little or nothing new over their existing products.

Oo more from Mr.Negativity.

I wouldent say its really flooding just more options in their psu area... now thier new psus give you the option of modular or not modular.

Edit: I get what you mean though like their "NEW" cpu cooler, that offers very little over the one it copied off of. (its made of better materials).
