Hello, I need advice for a my next upgrade.
Here is my current rig (also in my system spec).

Processor : Intel Core i5-3570K (3.4 GHz) (With Ventirad Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO)
Motherboard : MSI Z77A-G45
Memory : Kit Dual Channel DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws X, 2 x 4 Go, PC3-12800, CAS 9
Video card : Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 OC, 2 Go
Hard Disk : Seagate Barracuda, 1 To
Case : Coolermaster Silencio 450
Power supply : Antec High Current Gamer Series, 620 W

I want to upgrade a few parts for my computer, in the next few month, mainly for gaming.
I am not sure if an upgrade is necessary, or if I qhould wait a bit.

What sould I buy first ?

I am also thinking of buying a SSD, is it worth it ?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to the forums! :lovetpu:

My first question is what is your budget? My second is what kind of games do you play? Certain genres of games stress different parts of your computer. A free "upgrade" to your computer is considering overclocking your CPU and GPU for some extra performance.

Thank you for your welcome.

My budget is 400-500 $.
I play a bit of everything but my most demanding games are : Total war : Shogun 2, AC IV, SKyrim with mod.
I already OC GPU and CPU.

the only thing worth upgrade is your vga.
r9 280x or r9 290 (no X). more ram will help you with and skyrim mods and better gpu will let you max ac4. total war is cpu dependent so cpu oc will give you higher imporvement then vga replacement but for higher oc you will need better cpu cooler

I would be tempted to get a new case, as there is quite limited cooling potential in your current case. That's not to say that case is bad, as many cases work completely fine with a one intake, one exhaust system, but perhaps a new case will have better compatibility for future upgrades. You've got a great unlocked CPU, so I would definitely recommend at least some overclocking with the Hyper 212. You could go further with a better CPU cooler or if you watercooled it. The games you mentioned aren't extremely graphically intensive, especially Skyrim, but a GPU upgrade paired with a higher resolution monitor (1440p gaming with a GTX 770 / R9 280x) may be an interesting route to take, although maybe too much for your budget. I'm happy with my R9 270x (similar to the HD 7870) at 1080p, so maybe you will be too.

A gtx 770 would be nice i think.
For gaming, you dont need an ssd.

I agree with Layton, getting a new and better case would be a great treat for your rig, it won't do anything to performance but a better case will give you better temps, and your rig will look brand new :D

+1 for a case with more airflow. (NZXT H440?)
R9 280X/290 or GTX 770/780
Nice price: MSI R9 280X GAMING 6GB Reviewed here.
A CM 212 EVO is more than enough for a 77 watt CPU.
