So now the game is being bashed for it's color scheme and number of weapons you can carry? And you're calling the GAME "typical". Sounds like the typical meta rant to me. Speaking of which, there are actually mixed reviews of Homefront 1 on meta ranging from unrealistically low, to very positive, and the low ones are chock full of just this kind of exaggerated nonsense.
I wouldn't expect a game with a premise like this to feature scrapping resistance fighters carrying an armory on their backs, or a posh colored world for that matter. Though there was really nothing wrong with the color palette of the last one. They're only showing specific scenes here as well, not the whole game world.
Regardless what anyone thinks, this is being developed by quite a different team. Let's not judge it till we see it.
Frontlines wasn't bad, but I didn't really care for the forced mp style power struggles that were often back and forth high maintenance affairs. It's UE3 graphics also demonstrated pretty bad texture flickering and hitching in places, even on recommended spec. However I loved their use of mechs for combat. It's another game that didn't receive very favorable reviews though.
In alternate reality type games, I have to say Freedom Fighters and Wolfenstein: The New Order are hard to top. Freedom Fighters had a simple but effective squad command system too, and it's one game of this type that got pretty high ratings and deserved them.
