[[Sorry if this is in the wrong section]]

Ok so I'm really stuck here :/

Today I finally got round to upgrading to the following from my listed "System Specs"

Gainward GTX 760 4GB (running 337.88 drivers)
8GB (2x4GB) G.Skill DDR3 1600MHz

For some unknown reason most of my games crash now unlike before

2 in particular are Wolfenstein The New Order .. and Watch Dogs ... both of which ran ok at the settings I had them at before the upgrade.

Now I know WD is not the most stable thing atm for most but it worked before. Now it just crashes to desktop when it feels like it. I've also tried a huge variety of settings to try sort it out but still no luck.

Wolfenstein just crashed with an open GL error saying something about the TDR ??

I've had no other hardware related issues ......
I'm not sure what to do from here, and any help would be really appreciated.

Did you do a clean install of drivers?

Test non Beta drivers, and ensure you do clean installs. Also, run a quick MemTest86+ for one pass, just to see if any immediate errors pop up with your memory.

At first I just installed the hardware and let windows do it's thing .. restarted then all seemed fine .. after the games started acting up I ran the nvidia drivers again

a few times an error message popped up in the tray saying that "I had recovered from a display error blah blah etc"

^^ and then check thermal paste of GPU.... Or first, run a temperature monitoring program like Aida64 or other. In Aida open tools/Stability test, but do not run it. Just let the statistics compile.... while you play that game. (maybe you have to "Add" GPU temp in the Stability Test manually, go to its Preferences.)

run furmark in benchmark mode a few times see if that triggers a TDR
if it does it might just be a defective card

what about 320.49 WHQL?
http://www.nvidia.com/object/win8-win7-winvista-64bit-320.49-whql-driver.html

personally i think its from driver, but just check one by one, try using different driver, test the card, or you may test it on other pc before saying its from the card

Ok so I uninstalled the new card and drivers and everything nvidia related in the Programs and Features list.
Then restarted and let windows update the drivers and it installed 335.23
I'll see if this helped at all, and if not I'll install the latest ones for my correct card and go from there

I got this message again -

Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 335.23 stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I've installed the latest driver package now .. hopefully it helps :-/

Nope :( .. didn't help .. I even let GeForce Experience set the Optimal settings for me to and still crashes
I'm so lost at what else to try

Thanks for all the help so far everyone.

I just got back from doing an exchange ... I cleaned and repacked the 'Gainward Phantom GTX 760 4GB' and took it back telling them it didn't fit .. which in all honesty it didn't without removing my sound card.
I paid a little extra and got the 'Gigabyte Windforce OC GTX 760 4GB' ... they were a little reluctant until I said I wanted to throw down more cash and not just get a refund lol..... my sound card now fits back in to.

Now to test this one out..... fingers crossed :)

Sweet, and thanks but I think the factory OC settings are good enough.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd it all works now :D ... must've just been a dodgy card before.
I can now run Watch Dogs with everything maxed out @ 1920x1080 ... next thing to do is upgrade my CPU, but for now it seems to be performing well enough :)

THANK YOU ALL
